“Lovely”

We stayed for 2 nights great motel . Clean and comfortable. Staff were all brilliant. Easy walking into city centre , tram stops and bus station. Also has a lovely restaurant attached. We had buffet breakfast, which was also great.

Hotel close to the city and nicely furnished. Comfortable rooms. Kushi at the reception provided an excellent customer service and was very prompt at meeting my requests.

My son and I stayed at the Carnmore Hotel two days ago and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. This very modern, clean and attractive hotel is very conveniently located to the center of Christchurch. It also has a very nice restaurant connected to it. Our buffet breakfast, which we included with our reservation, was delicious. Despite these deserved compliments, what really differentiated and distinguished Carnmore for us was how welcoming and helpful their entire staff were. In particular, a delightful young woman, named Khushi Panchal, went out of her way to assist us. We arrived at the hotel after having flown 19 hours (via 2 flights) from America's East Coast and were understandably exhausted. Khushi immediately did everything she could to make us comfortable, including expediting us into our room. As a result, we were able to get some much-needed sleep sooner than we had expected. We were extremely grateful to her for her kindness and extra effort on our behalf. We liked our experience at the Carnmore Hotel so much that we changed our plans and will now be staying there again at the end of our journey around the South Island. I've been fortunate to have traveled to over 80 countries, so I know a good hotel when I find one. I'd highly recommend that you consider staying at the Carnmore Hotel. Jay from Boston, MA USA

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, booking a king studio with breakfast included. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and perfectly adequate for our stay for most of the time. On the second night of our stay, the hotel experienced an electrical fault which resulted in the property operating solely on emergency power. Consequently, our room was left without electricity for the remainder of the evening, causing inconvenience and diminishing the overall quality of our stay. The next morning we received a letter from the hotel manager apologising for the outage and explaining that the reason was beyond the control of the hotel. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a significant disappointment. The selection was limited, and had I known this beforehand, I would have booked accommodation elsewhere. The only egg option on the buffet was a tray of rather unappetising scrambled eggs. When I asked if I could have poached eggs instead, I was informed there would be an additional charge. I was then treated to a lengthy explanation from the duty manager, who said the surcharge was intended to discourage guests from placing individual egg orders during busy periods and to ease pressure on the kitchen. Although he eventually agreed to waive the charge at his discretion, the gesture felt reluctant rather than welcoming. Charging guests extra for a simple poached egg when breakfast is included struck me as unnecessarily penny-pinching. On the second morning, not wishing to experience a similar interaction, I opted for an egg-free breakfast. While I appreciate that unforeseen issues such as power failures can occur, the combination of the disappointing breakfast experience and the lack of electricity meant our stay did not represent the standard or value we had expected
