The staff at St Moritz Hotel Queenstown were exceptional — hands down the most helpful, friendly, polite and willing team we’ve encountered across all the Accor properties we’ve stayed at around the world. Nothing was too much trouble. Food from the restaurant was delicious and the cocktails were on point. The location and views are stunning, especially waking up to fresh overnight snowfall over Queenstown. It’s also a short, easy walk into town, with great access to shops, restaurants and the main attractions. Simply the best (possibly better than Raffles Singapore for staff service). Can’t recommend it highly enough.

“Lovely accommodation”

Great hotel, clean, large rooms, nice service. I had a room with a view but it was just the back garden - couldn’t see the lake but that was the only fault!

Have previously lived in Queenstown but never stayed at the St Moritz - worked at the heritage on Fernhill so it gave me similar vibes, the staff were friendly and customer service, especially housekeeping staff was great I would recommend St Moritz Queenstown to take good care of the staff that do… more

Have previously lived in Queenstown but never stayed at the St Moritz - worked at the heritage on Fernhill so it gave me similar vibes, the staff were friendly and customer service, especially housekeeping staff was great I would recommend St Moritz Queenstown to take good care of the staff that do their best to provide the service that’s needed in a high end hotel, I wish the Heritage did that for me instead of disrespecting me and other staff, treat your workers well

The location and design of the hotel is fantastic but some quality and service aspects let it down badly. Our room was really nice but the badly sealed outside door/window leaked cold drafts and we needed the heater on to compensate. The hotel has an onsite laundry room which was great to catch up after three weeks on the road, $4 for a wash and $4 for a dry. Fortunately the facilities weren't busy because half the machines weren't working. Only one out of 3 washers worked and one drier broken, so 6 machines, 3 broken. On the first night, we tried dinner in the bar. It started well but then two of the staff looking after us went on their break and nobody took their place. The maitre'd spent the evening stomping from one side of the restaurant to the other trying to look busy. The barman spent his evening teaching a new staff member how to make cocktails. It was impossible to summon service for another drink, dessert or simply to clear our table. No wonder there were only 3 sets of customers in the place on a Friday night. This experience and a peek at the reviews for the food meant we steered clear for the rest of our trip. The hotel is fantastic but there's clearly a lack of top down management as many of the staff don't seem to realise it's the guests like us that pay the wages.
