I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough. The staff were friendly and informative, the rooms were very clean and the free muffin on arrival, popcorn, bottled water, coffee machine, and even free delicious homemade soup were such a huge and welcoming surprise. “Nice motel ”
Typical New Zealand motel type of accommodation. Managed by a local family, very clean , cosy, and well maintained. Although small size rooms they are comfortable enough for 2-3 nights. Full facilities offered like kitchen etc PS: Don't park on the street, park inside the premises.

“Great experience.”
Arrived by bus from Greymouth. Very kind and friendly reception. I got help even with my luggage up the stairs. Scones offered upon checking in. The room was well appointed and very clean. There was partial mountain view from the room. Shower was hot and powerful.

“Very quirky!”
Stayed here for a night when we had planned a helicopter ride to the Glaciers which was cancelled due to bad weather! ( it never stopped raining for the 19 hours we were in Franz Josef) Now the Wild Kea has a range of accommodation options … we had a queen bed with the world’s smallest bathroom … more

The town of Franz Josef is a tourist town. This lodging facility offers a variety of lodging options. We had a double en suite. The room and bathroom were small, but adequate and very clean.
