Clean, charming, easy to walk from this location, nice breakfast, cozy. Less amenities than you’d find in a large hotel but quiet, relaxing and more authentic. Like many European hotels, the bed is two twins pushed together, each with its own duvet.

Excellent housekeeping, desk and kitchen staff. Single room is smaller than a jail cell and sparse in content. I switched to a larger and excellent room. Breakfast very good. Excellent housekeeping, desk and kitchen staff. Single room is smaller than a jail cell and sparse in content. I switched to a larger and excellent room. Breakfast very good. Shower flooded bathroom floor. The beds were horribly soft, and there was no back support at all. Delightful lobby sitting area. You need to be able to walk uphill to the hotel and up the stairs to your room. Very nice looking hotel.

“great hotel - one caveat”

greetings, I recently stayed at the park hotel in Bergen for a three night stay in may 2025. The hotel is composed of two buildings (across the street from each other). The 'main' building is the white building that you see on all pictures, our room was in the green building across the street - not an issue at all. The white building is where the breakfast room is located as well as the front desk. We had a corner room on the first floor which was great with large windows on both walls. The room was immaculate and the bed very comfy. The room had a nice desk, mini fridge, couch and seats around a coffee table and we had a TV in the room (we didn't use it). The bathroom is minimalist - as everywhere in Scandinavia - but totally clean and functional. Your room key allows you to open front doors to both buildings (and your room obviously). The breakfast was included with the room rate. The breakfast room (in the white building) is nicely decorated with art work but a bit small and cramped (people lining up to pick up food) - which is normal in a way as everyone shows up around the same time - if you want to avoid the rush hour, go early ~ 6h30. The breakfast buffet was very nice with plenty of home made products and healthy stuff. This is a small family run hotel and it is very beautifully decorated, the staff is very nice and helpful. Please note that there was no A/C in the room - i don't know if this can be an issue during the summer months. Both large windows can be opened to provide some fresh air in the room - only caveat is it can get noisy in the evening or during the night - you are close by the university campus - so before you go to bed close the windows to avoid the occasional noise nuisance in the middle of the night. (we didn't do this on our first night and we were woken up in the middle of the night by some people walking on the street coming back from bars and being a bit 'loud'.) The hotel is pricey (but you are in Bergen .. no bargains there) but worth it. It's located in a very nice neighbourhood, rather quiet compared to the main sites in the old town so if you close the windows, you will get good sleep quality. Even if the hotel is outside the main area - old town - this is not an issue, as the main sites (old town, bryggen, funicular, forteress, kode museums) are all reachable by walk. (15 to 30 minutes) at most. If you come and go to the airport using the tramway - i suggest you use the nonnester stop - then you just have to walk up the hill on stromgaten street and you get directly to the hotel. (uphill from the tram stop to the hotel). using the 'closest' recommended stop - nygard can get very confusing to get to the hotel when you arrive because you walk partly through the university campus to get to the hotel (despite google maps - trust me it gets confusing and you have to haul luggage thru stairs, etc..). Bergen is a great city to visit - compact and enjoyable, lots of small streets to explore - just be prepared to walk a lot and it is quite hilly (surprisingly) but very nice - recommended. Enjoy

This is a lovely historic hotel and as such, there is a narrow winding staircase to the rooms that may not suit some with mobility issues or large suitcases. This is a lovely historic hotel and as such, there is a narrow winding staircase to the rooms that may not suit some with mobility issues or large suitcases. Also with older hotels, bathroom is very small. Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and quiet. Friendly, hard working staff and great breakfast. The city centre is about a 15 minute walk away.
