“I will use this hotel again”

It is a pleasure to stay at Thon Harstad. It is quiet and calm with excellent staff.The location is in the middle of the center, near the harbour.

Nice hotel. We stayed one night in a family room, with people it is a bit hard to open 3 large suitcases to find the needed belongings. The breakfast is nice and complete also nice is the Gym and rooftop terrace with a nice view over the harbour

Pleasant stay all is working good breakfast and easy parking , Can defenitely recommend. Easy acces to all ferry terminal only 2 min walk

My two-night stay at Thon Hotel Harstad in April 2026 left me with mixed feelings. The central location is convenient for a work trip, but it has been a long time since I stayed in such a cold and uncomfortable hotel room, and that overshadowed much of the experience. I stayed in room 219, a small single room that was freezing when I arrived late in the evening. It was so cold that I had to sleep in a wool jumper on the first night. There was no wall thermostat, and only the next day did I discover a simple switch on the radiator that turned on the heat, though without any real temperature control. The bed was the main problem: just about 80 cm wide and not placed against a wall, which made it feel even less comfortable. As shown in my photo of the room, it was not a setup that encouraged good sleep, and I slept poorly. The bathroom also felt tired, with cracked tiles on the wall and visible limescale in the shower area. Housekeeping, however, was perfectly acceptable. My room faced the sea and had large windows, but the view was not especially interesting, and there was some noise. I appreciated having a minibar and kettle, though there was no coffee machine. Service was functional rather than warm. Check-in was straightforward, but there was little beyond the minimum. At check-out, I was asked to pay for minibar items I had not even opened, which was disappointing. Breakfast was simple but adequate, with the essentials rather than anything memorable. The lobby was small with limited seating, though the direct access to the Egon restaurant was a practical advantage. What could be improved - Single rooms should not be fitted with beds as narrow as 80 cm. - Heating controls need to be clearer and more effective. I would only return if I were sure of getting a better room, ideally with a wider bed and a higher floor facing the sea. If you go • If you book a single room, ask specifically for a bed at least 120 cm wide. • Request a higher-floor room facing the sea for a better outlook. • Do not rely on hotel parking; be prepared for expensive public parking nearby.
