3.75/5 An older of the big resorts in this part of town. It’s a little run down though is beautiful at night lit up with lanterns. Love that this hotel and others nearby have preserved the mangroves. Overall: if I got a good price I would stay here again. Get supplies at store I town and stock your fridge. Positives: -friendly and helpful staff -great breakfast buffet - nice to be out of town a bit and cheap to trike into town -has a pool (but see below) -nice boardwalk out into the mangroves, and may places to relax on property Negatives: -run down in areas and maintenance questionable (if we turned on hot water the lights flashed off and on, AC and fridge so-so) -pool cleanliness very questionable. Main pool was always cloudy, and at our point smaller pool was shut as had dark algae bloom. Staff kept say it it was safe but didn’t seem to be very chlorinated) -pricy side for food//drinks. Better to go into town.

I really wanted to love this resort, but unfortunately our experience fell short of expectations. The property itself is beautiful. As you arrive, you’re welcomed by a tranquil setting with a pool overlooking expansive, lush gardens. The grounds are spacious, green and well maintained, and it has the potential to be a truly relaxing getaway. We stayed for several nights, but overall the experience was inconsistent. Pros: • The grounds are spacious, peaceful and well maintained • The Serene Pier Bar is a lovely spot to unwind, especially at sunset • Kaigan Japanese Restaurant was a standout – the food was excellent and the staff were warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming • The island-hopping tour organised through the resort (with JY Travel and Tours) was fantastic – very professional, and the lunch prepared by the resort was generous and delicious • Nice touches like the fire dance and outdoor movie added to the atmosphere Cons: • During most of our stay, our room had several issues: o leaking shower floor o renovation dust entering the room o air conditioner leaking inside • The pool water was often cloudy and did not appear well maintained • Service at Amihan Restaurant was inconsistent. While some staff were somewhat attentive, one staff member (L**) was noticeably unfriendly on multiple occasions to, with no greeting or acknowledgment, which stood out given the usual warmth and hospitality the Philippines is known for. She made me uncomfortable every time I entered the restaurant. With more attention to maintenance and stronger staff training and supervision, this resort has the potential to be a really great place to stay.

Well, we arrived at this resort early and we knew would could not check in till 2, so had a wonder round not a lot to see to be honest, went back to reception at 2, to be told your room is not ready yet, eventually got into the room, bearing in mind we had been up since 3am, so we unpacked and decided to sleep for a few hours before going out, this is where it all started, we were on the first floor and the room under us was having a renovation we were not aware the the hotel was having a renovation being done (we definitely would have not booked it) please don’t get me wrong I appreciate it must be hard to do with guests there, but the drilling was so bloody loud, hammering and workmen sniffing then spitting absolutely disgusting, we came down to reception and I said I’m sorry we cannot stay in that room with that work and noise going on, admittedly they apologised and said we will look for another room for you, come back tomorrow after 2pm, so they moved us to the top floor the other side of the hotel, we then had to ask for a kettle, a hairdryer, (the hairdryer did not plug into the bathroom so not point in having it) and a safe, the second day asked for the safe again, on the 3rd day the safe came never worked the whole time we were there, and do you know what I could not be bothered to ask again, (we locked our passports and money in our suitcase) that afternoon we again went up for a sleep around 3-4 in the afternoon and I could believe that work was again being done more drilling and workmen spitting, and Oh My God the cockerel doing Cock-A-Doodle-Doo from 1am every 10-15 seconds all night and all day, I wanted to cry seriously I’ve never stayed anywhere like it, I don’t me and my husband slept at all the whole time we were there, the pool is really cloudy by the 3 day me and my husband did not want to get in it, never see the pool pump on once, snd as for the hot tub full of green water..🤢🤢, and I did take a picture and I think the staff see me because the next day it was being cleaned out, staff where lovely but that’s about all I can say, please do your research, (oh by the way the Spa was great) but had walk around workmen painting and again spitting.!!!..so disappointed with this hotel…
