We had an amazing stay at Sangat Island Resort. The accommodation is beautiful, with stunning views over the sea that make it truly special. The entire place feels very natural and untouched – from the ocean, you can hardly even recognize that there is a resort, which adds to its unique charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. One highlight was that we were even allowed to join a diving trip as snorkelers and visit a shipwreck – an unforgettable experience! We were also very impressed by the resort’s commitment to sustainability. Electricity is generated entirely from solar panels, which is a big positive in our eyes. Overall, we were very positively impressed and would happily come back again.

I'm having a perfect week at Sangat Island Dive resort. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the beautiful scenery, the clean and comfortable room, the delicious food, all of the facilities - including the top notch dive shop - everything is even better than I had hoped for. And I am perfectly comfortable being here on my own. The wreck dives are so cool. I did the Advanced certification (thanks Tom!). I hope to come back. I recommend Sangat wholeheartedly. “total paradise”

Unbelievable location: it’s an adventure just getting here, which adds to the magical element of this place. After flying onto Busuanga Island, there is a private minivan waiting, which takes you across the island to the “port”, which is a sandy bank to the water edge. There, you & your luggage are transferred by private speedboat through the mangroves & then around the island to the mysterious peaceful Sangat Island. The island is nothing short of spectacular: beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear water, with a backdrop of dense mountain forest. We stayed for 5 nights in a beachside bungalow with air conditioning. The room rates include full meal lodging in the open air restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks). The rate does not include dives & beverages, but these are very fairly priced. The room had 2 beds, divided by a block out curtain with the air conditioning really only readily able to cool down one sectioned off area. Reason being that the remaining area has two breezeway openings with mosquito mesh, so any cooled air would be lost. Additionally, the rooms provide fans for extra comfort. The ensuite bathroom was large & the vanity was huge, with plenty of counter space for all the bags of toiletries! The downside being that when you have a shower, you inadvertently flood the rest of the bathroom. The mosquitos were relentless & thankfully the hotel sourced antihistamines & bug spray. The dive shop was great: with information readily available about the fantastic historic wreck dive sites. The dive guides were friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. There is plenty readily available to be explored from the shore – either snorkelling or diving. Definitely highly recommend staying here & indulge in an adventure both underwater & just generally staying at the resort. BYO everything you might want/need as there are no amenities available on the island or easily accessible. Anything you might want/need can be requested from hotel staff who can try to source their resupply trips to town. Wifi is provided & accessible in the communal bar area with pool tables & open air restaurant.

Our experience at Sangat Island Dive Resort in Coron, Philippines was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality by every member of the staff. The entire team made me feel completely at home — always polite, attentive, and professional. The level of service throughout the resort was outstanding, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and inspiring for anyone who loves the ocean. What made this trip truly unforgettable was completing my PADI Wreck Diving Certification as well as my Enriched air diving certification here. I had the privilege of training with the incredible instructor Tom Wood, who is without a doubt one of the best instructors I could have hoped for. Tom is calm, patient, and extremely professional. His teaching style is encouraging and supportive, and he works tirelessly to ensure you feel safe, capable, and confident underwater. He didn’t just teach the course — he genuinely built my confidence as a diver. Every briefing was clear, every dive was carefully guided, and his positive attitude made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The highlight of the trip was diving the Olympia Maru WWII shipwreck, which was absolutely mind-blowing. Descending into such an iconic wreck was a dream come true, and experiencing it for the first time is something I will never forget. Seeing the structure emerge from the blue and exploring a real piece of history underwater felt surreal — even now it still feels unreal that I actually did it. The diving around Coron is world-class, but what makes Sangat truly special is the people. The professionalism of the dive team, the welcoming atmosphere of the resort staff, and the breathtaking wreck dives combine to create an experience that is simply exceptional. If you’re dreaming of wreck diving, improving your skills, or experiencing some of the most fascinating dives in the world, Sangat Island Dive Resort is the place to do it. I cannot recommend it highly enough — and if you have the chance to dive with Tom Wood, you are in the very best hands. An unforgettable experience, incredible diving, and a dream achieved.
