Overall, I was disappointed with this hotel. The facilities are fine. The WiFi would go down occasionally, but nothing major. The breakfast was good, but after 7 days gets boring, with only several options. The bed was excellent- very comfortable. The shower was great- lots of hot water. Now, for the things that need improvement. Every day, each room gets 2 plastic, single use bottles of water. There are no recycle containers on the property. Why not just have a water station, by reception? The staff near reception area is very noisy. If your room is near reception, the noise factor is very loud, from housekeeping on their walkie-talkies, and from the live music every evening, until 11 PM. If you want relaxation, I would recommend that you let reception know that, and request a room on the back side, far from the reception area. I spend 200 nights a year in Philippine hotels, and I was surprised at the lack of greeting and warmth from the employees at this property. This is poor management. As mentioned, I am always in Philippine hotels, and the hotel employees usually greet me with warmth and smiles. There was a very noticeable deficit of that at this hotel. My last negative is not the hotel’s responsibility, but a warning to folk considering coming to Alona Beach. They have a serious hawker problem! I feel bad for the vendors, because these poor people are trying to eke out a subsistence, but I also know that they ruin my desire to have a peaceful holiday. Every 5 feet, you are being hounded to take a tour; to buy cheap jewelry; to get a massage; to purchase sunglasses, etc. it never stops! Believe me, it gets super annoying, especially if one is there more than a couple of days. Transport from the airport, you have two choices: taxi is 500-600 pesos. If you are solo, you can walk to the airport entrance and take a trike for 150 pesos, but that only fits one person. If you are going to Tagbilaran, you can take the trike for 500 pesos, but again, there’s only room for one person. Otherwise, a van will run 800-1000 pesos.

Small hotel with entrance from the beach side through its own Cocovida restaurant. It is right next to the Hennan resort (along the beach) and comes at a fraction of the cost. I was on business trip and could not get a room for all 5 nights in any of the major hotels so looked around for ahotel which offers me room for the duration of my stay. At the end, nonregrets as Alona Vida is right on the beach which can be enjoyed while sitting at the restaurant for breakfast and other times. Rooms are comfortable with bare minimum amenities. Tooth brush didnot even last one time but the soap and shampoo are okay. They have hair dryer, a safee to store valuables, filled mini bar, tea kettle, and 2 water bottles in the room. Breakfast options are good and the food menu has quite a bit of choice. With live band playing, though it is at the end of the beach (Hennan is next), it is lively place. The rooms are well insulated from the sound and the music is not at all audible so there is no disturbance at all. At a fraction of the cost of bigger hotels, alona vida offered most of things one could expect. They have a small pool too. Recommend it for its friendly staff, food, and decent rooms at affordable rates.

This is neither a 4-star nor 5-star resort in Bohol Island but I highly recommend it for a fun stay in Bohol Island with friends. The location is very close to the transportation hub where you can get picked up by car or tuktuk, walking distance. It’s on a beachfront strip lined with various resorts, shops and restaurants. What makes this place stand out among the rest is the quality of service and food at their restaurant is excellent. At night, it is also the place to enjoy an excellent cover band, called Sacrifice. The rooms were clean with a mini bar and AC, plus there’s a small pool if you prefer to swim there rather than the beach. This location has a beautiful sunrise!

The good: the hotel’s located right on the beach and the staff are friendly and very helpful . The bad: lots of small irritants—broken towel rack, the safe wouldn’t open, the noisy refrigerator imitated Darth Vader all night long, the toilet paper holder couldn’t hold the toilet paper, the air conditioner is aimed directly towards the bed making for cool, uncomfortable nights, and the wifi must be renewed every day. The ugly: half the rooms hear music from the bar until late at night. Once the music stops, it’s replaced with loud drunken talk until all hours.

“Hit and miss”

First off.. San Miguel Light 220php? That was the end of food and beverage. King bed? Was two singles pushed together. Sheets? Thin and old. Room was very clean.Staff very nice. I guess for location and ok stay. Nice patio. Bathroom was very nice
