This hotel will fulfill the needs of a variety of groups. The location offers amenities that would be hard to find elsewhere in Manila (Mall of Asia, Amusement park, waterfront exercise and walk path with water overlook. The restaurant in the lobby has a variety of culinary dishes and all of them were delicious with prime and fresh ingredients. The restaurant staff were extremely attentive and the atmosphere very clean and crisp. The Queen suite was spacious and the amenities make you feel special. The room is cleaned daily and more upon request. I was able to request Housekeeping at all hours and the staff were very accommodating and gracious. For example my second day I requested for help with the comfort of my bed and they immediately brought up four quilts and had me test out the bed if it was to my liking and comfort. Then, on the third day I requested the sofa changed and they did so immediately. In fact, Kizza the floor attendant went above and beyond. I was in the room two of the times she cleaned and she attended to every square inch, which included a desk, night tables, dining table, coffee table, and the kitchen and counters and the cups/saucers and coffee and water refills. I only had to ask her once for wash clothes and water, and she remembered the amount I requested every time she cleaned the room. She even without a request from me provided fresh room slippers. Another of the housekeeping staff Ernie went out of his way and gave so much time to my request for help with my mobile phone. The front desk also attended to all the calls I made and requests at all hours day or night. Their communication was very professional, detailed, and always answered with positive attitudes. In fact, I was quite unwell for several days and had suspected my blood pressure might be high, so Marc with front desk sent their bell man Ralph up to my room to take my blood pressure. The fifth day of my illness I called front desk again and they quickly sent Mayce up to my room to receive my requests and money for Sprite, Water with electrolytes and Gatorade with electroltes which needed to purchased at the minimart down the street. Those items immediately help bring my blood sugar up to normal levels and the very next two days I made a turnaround and felt well again. Another bell man that was with the Wyndham properties (30 years!) at the main office and worked there for so long before being asked to help at Microtel, was so friendly (as all of the bell men were), he was so warm he shared bits about his life. This told me he enjoyed his work so much and he made me feel privileged that he shared personal stories. There were even staff from the background or back of house, that are also part of what makes Microtel a premier property, that I would notice in the corridors and elevators, and every single one of them were absolutely courteous, respectful and friendly. This was so impressive because guests normally to not see the back of the house staff who’s contributions are not acknowledged. Finally, the Operations Manager, Matthew Ko exemplified the pinnacle of management leadership! His leadership was evident in the excellence in the staff! The staff and operations of a property will always reflect the quality of leadership at the helm! He so praised his staff and even asked for their names or positions and with this he brought it to his morning meetings with department heads! And he not only was interested in my positive experiences, but also encouraged any concerns I had or would like to bring to his attention. Now this is impressive and highlights exemplary management! I was at Microtel by Wyndham Mall of Asia for two weeks and my second time at the property. I will always choose Microtel with future visits because of all of the above. Traveling business people, families, single travelers and other groups of Manila visitors need to experience the Microtel hospitality and excellence, as all of the examples shared supports.

Excellent customer service by all staff encountered. Great location across from the Mall of Asia and the waterfront. The room was nice, but the Sunset view room on the 12th floor was very noisy from vehicle traffic. Offering a free breakfast as most hotels in the area provide have, or at least a discount as a way to show customer appreciation would have been nice. As such, we only ate breakfast once in hotel restaurant.
