We stayed at Sunlight for 3 nights and had a really pleasant stay. All the staff are really friendly. The location is good, 10-15 minutes from the airport, you can walk to the harbour, supermarkets and a nice shopping centre. We had breakfast all 3 days and really enjoyed it, there was a good selection and it tasted great. My partner used the gym and he said it was well equipped. We did go up to the roof deck one night, we didn’t expect much but there was literally nothing up there - no atmosphere whatsoever. There were some seats, a bar which was closed and the only people up there were some staff (I don’t believe from the hotel), we felt quite awkward so we came down after 5 minutes and just went to our room. The photos on trip advisor are outdated, our room looked completely different and the roof deck looked nothing like the photos on here. The room had quite a bit of wear and tear but overall it was a nice room and felt clean. We would recommend this hotel again and the price felt fair.

This is a rather unusual hotel. It is located right on a very busy street with no parking lot or anything. Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located inside a department store which was somewhat odd. The lower floors are selling groceries and furniture and the upper floor is the hotel. The room was reasonably large and clean. Oddly there was no outside window. The curtains opened up onto a dark hallway of clsoed rooms. The AC worked OK. the room had a small fridge and a safe but the safe didn't work and I ended up locking my valuables inside my suitcase. The bed was quite firm which I found OK, but others felt it was too hard. The hotel had a pretty decent gym, but no pool. They had a restaurant which was OK. breakfast was pretty good. There was a rooftop bar where I went one night for "happy hour". Turns out I was the only one up there. It was interesting watching the planes come in (the hotel is right near the airport), but after a while it got a bit lonely up there. The hotel is right in the busy local part of town. it is a short walk to the waterfront area. The hotel was able to arrange a late check out since we couldn't go to our boat until 5 PM. overall it was a pleasant enough place for a short stay before boarding our liveaboard dive boat .

The location is central near the old market. Check in was ok The room was very nice. Outside view of City poor. Down at Reception every time someone opens the door from outside you got a not a pleasant small. The Reception staff are just ok. Not very informative. When I asked the Question of how much the service charge was the lady did not know neither did the 2 members of staff with her. Lady went to the office longside and they did not know. I find that Staggering !!. Back at the Room city side. 4 floor I know it be the city . But we did not expect that. And the noise from the street lorries dumping stuff bin Wagon noisy motorbike people on general all this was after 23.00 hrs sliding door and glass should be at the least double glazed. On the other side the bay view has a nice view,if you have an upper floor. Our Bedroom was nice and with a hot water shower or bath. Now the bed size is good pillows are soft and smelling fresh. But it's the Mattress hard with extremely little give. It's like laying on a wooden board. The TV's nice size cable? But not much on it film wise HBO ok as for Amazon, Netflix subscription. Welcome drink fruit juice the type they mix powder with water and throw in a few ice cubes. But for breakfast when I'm away I usually enjoy the experience of having breakfast at a lesially pace. Not in the Philippines Special Palawan they have no idea iif you are a foreign ok if you are a Filipino. .They do not think about other parts of the world USA EUROPE AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND. No cold cooked meat, yogurt, fresh fruit ,cereal, croissants Bagel. All they had was little bits of cake and a bit of fruit sliced up. I Asked the Restaurant Supervisor where the western, European food was and he directed me to the fillipo food . So you can add eggs and pancakes to Foreign menu. One type of fruit juice sweetened Cucumber yes Cucumber. I asked for pancakes repeated Twice I said I have pancakes have you got a topping since or jam.. He said how many would I like 3 please. Sit down I will bring them to you Thanks A little while later they arrived 3 sunny side up eggs. I said I asked for a pancake I repeated twice with topping sauce. Now if I was wanting fried eggs I would telling you how I would like them cooked and be asking where is the tomato ketchup.salt and pepper wouldn't. I When the pancakes did arrive 3 of them looked nice shape and size expecting fluffy soft pancakes WRONG they were like rubber like eating leather. Oh if you want a cup of tea they don't save tea not in room either just coffee left without a pleasant experience instead I was thinking of what to put in a review. I wanted to take a few photos of the lovely view from the window in the restaurant. I asked if there was an area that had no glass I asked 2 staff who I did not understand the third said yes the bar upstairs. Now why on earth don't the hotel put that in a welcome pack oh no welcome pack or how to get cable channels or tell you of it. So to conclude would we stay at the Starlight hotel again No I look forward to hearing from the hotel to respond to my comments.and concerns
