I stayed at Astoria Current in Boracay for 10 days (Jan28-Feb06) this year with my whole family — my two young kids, my senior parents, and my sister — and it was honestly one of the best vacation decisions we’ve ever made. It was our first time there, and while we initially had a concern because the pool was under rehabilitation during our first four days (which we had been informed about in advance), the way the hotel handled it completely exceeded our expectations. We had originally booked a deluxe room with pool access, so this was very important to us. The reservations team leader personally reached out and offered a wonderful solution: they upgraded us to their highest room category — a Premier Room with a pool view — and arranged connecting rooms to accommodate our big family. That gesture alone already set the tone for an amazing stay. What truly makes this hotel special is the staff — they are absolute gems. On our first night at Citrine Lounge, we met Ms. Rhea (F&B leader) together with her practicants Juna Mhay Reluya and Gwyneth Yvonne Tagama from the University of Perpetual Help Pangasinan. They kept us company and made my little “date night” with my 4-year-old such a warm and memorable experience. The breakfast buffet became my favorite time of the day — there was a huge variety of options and everything was delicious. But what made it extra special was the F&B team led by Jenifer Tibio (team leader) and Rene Sullaga (head waiter). They took care of us like family. As a mom traveling with a baby and a young child, I was deeply touched when they would even offer to carry my baby so I could get my food peacefully. One moment that truly stood out: I once asked if they could steam vegetables for my baby — and they did it every single day after that without me even needing to ask again. That level of care is something you don’t forget. Honestly, I would come back to Astoria just because of them. After about a week, we also got to meet the other F&B team when rotations changed — team leaders Gino Desales and Jhon Rey Reyes, together with Marylyn Samulde and Alvin Lecaros. They were equally kind, attentive, and made our stay very relaxing and comfortable. Overall, Astoria Current is incredibly family-friendly, service-oriented, and genuinely cares about guests’ comfort. We left feeling rested, cared for, and very grateful. We will absolutely be coming back — and highly, highly recommend this hotel, especially for families.
