We’ve just spent 3 nights in Krakow staying in the Hotel Estera and really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is perfectly located on the corner of Plac Nowy square, which is surrounded by bars and restaurants with a small ‘interesting’ market during the day, and is about a 10 minute walk from Wawel Castle and 25 minutes from the main square in the old town. Some reviews here are critical about the rooms so it must depend on which room you have, but ours was large, clean, and overlooked a small courtyard at the back so we were not bothered by outside noise. Yes the bed was 2 singles pushed together but that didn’t bother us and was perfectly comfortable. The staff at the hotel were all polite, friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fine, with plenty to choose from. We had an excursion with an early start the morning after our late arrival, so we emailed in advance to ask if they provided a take out breakfast (we were staying B&B), and they emailed back really quickly to confirm 2 breakfasts would be at Reception for 05:15. We were expecting a croissant and carton of juice, but there was a nice selection of rolls, jam, salad, fruit and a drink. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again or recommending the hotel to others.

Lovely hotel with ideal location. Perfect choice for a short stay, with everything on its doorstep. Staff were very helpful, going above and beyond.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was modern, clean and centrally located in the Kazimierz area of the city. Around 10 minute walk to Wawel Castle and 20 minute walk to the Main Square. The staff were friendly and welcoming and luckily our room was ready 3 hours before the allocated check in time of 2pm. The room had a mini fridge, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The beds weren’t the comfiest though and the mattresses felt really thin along with only having one pillow each. The room we were given was an attic style room with 4 small windows and 2 large sky light windows. The hotel is located right next to one of the busiest bars in the area, the Alchemia which was very loud at night. We struggled to sleep every night until the bar closed around 2am. This was due to people sitting outside the bar on the street having drinks/smoking. The hotel was decent enough for 3 days and for what we paid including flights we can’t complain too much. I probably wouldn’t stay again and do a bit more research next time as to where the hotel is exactly located so we can get a decent sleep.

If I had to review only the location, service and other amenities, I would give the hotel five stars but sadly the bed ruined the experience for me. Double bed being two mattresses pushed together that kept moving and sliding off the bedframe. The mattresses also seem like they urgently need a replacement: cheap-feeling and so extremely soft that they offer absolutely zero support and as I have back problems, I was practically disabled after my four nights there. I did not get the bedding situation either: what was this coarse-textured flimsy topper doing under my sheets? Kept coming off the mattress. Really bad bed which was not four star and the paid money worthy at all. As I am now in Zakopane in a cheaper hotel with actual double bed with proper bedding and mattresses, I know it was not me being picky. Which is a shame because the location is really good (though there is noise coming from the lively Plac Nowy, it did not bother me). The room was spaceous and the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower and big sink. The staff was very professional and friendly. You can walk everywhere and there are loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Please fix the bed issue, otherwise you'd have a great place.
