“Feels dated but good stay”

Stayed here as part of a larger group touring Poland. A bit outside the main shopping area and wished it was closer at times. No air conditioning in rooms, but with large windows that open wide it was manageable. If it was humid or middle of summer I think I may have felt different. Getting to my room was a bit confusing. For example, room 377 was on floor 2 but as you went down the hallway, had to go up a set of 8 steps to reach. Elevator has room numbers marked on it for reference but each floor seemed to have some steps to navigate for some areas. Doors don't automatically close so be sure to pull shut when leaving. Beds were ok, room was spacious (2 twin beds), fridge didn't seem to work but wasn't a deal-breaker. Hotel could use a refresh as it felt dated. Hotel dinner and breakfast buffets were plentiful and varied with lots of options. Pool had a slide and there was a game room but I didn't check those out.

We enjoyed our stay here, which was ln a deal that included breakfast and dinner buffets. First things first, the buffets were great. The dinner one almost completely changed every night so never got repetitive, and the quality was surprisingly high. Over our 5 nights we had Polish, Greek, Chinese, Italian and generic international nights on the dinner buffet, although the selection was always wide enough to cater for those who aren't into the main theme. The buffet also included three kids focused items. The breakfast buffets had a little more repetion, but still changed around more than pretty much anywhere else I remember staying, and again quality was high. Only quibble is that the dinner buffet stops at the rather early hour of 7pm, which was particularly an issue when running in at 6.55pm on the arrival day! The hotel might be described as dated in decor but it is spick and span and kept up to well so i didnt think looked tired. We were happy with our family room, which included two separate rooms, one bedroom with a double and a single and another sitting room with a single bed in it. In terms of kids entertainment, it was Polish winter school holidays so there were about 4 animation events a day for free ranging from national park forest walks, to crafts, to a mini-disco, to a movie and popcorn night, to bowling and pool, to a chocolate factory visit and so on. I asked in advance for an English version of the animation list, which was provided (front desk speak English well), though for example the movie night was in Polish. Still, English kids can participate in most of the events. Even without the animations, kids have the play room (toys and ball pit aimed at young kids), the games bar (bowling, pool, table football and arcade room, all at extra charge), swimming pool with a slide, chess boards, sports hall at 50 zloty an hour to hire where you can play table tennis, badminton, basketball and floorball. There is also a small outdoor playground aimed at young kids though in February we didn't use it. The location is a 10 minute walk to the main strip, and a 15 minute walk to Snowlandia if you are here in winter, but personally I liked being in a quiet corner of town and really liked being right next to the pine forest which was magical in snow covered winter. Its a nice way to walk to Snowlandia for a start. In any case, taxis are easy to come by in Zakopane. We used Taxi Zone who you can WhatsApp in English and they respond quickly. I also noticed that there seemed to be 4 or 5 uber cars buzzing around when I checked the uber app. There is a store room for skis, sledges or whatever winter gear you have. I would happily return.
