The main perk of the hotel is its location; extremely close to the old Town (one can just walk across the street and voila) as well as the parks surrounding the town and a shopping mall. Considering the hotel offer private parking as well, makes it a appealing choice for guests arriving by car. The building is renovated but has kept its quaint and old-looking appearance which is very nice; our rooms were quite large with nice decoration and furniture. The bathroom was clean and quite new I believe. The breakfast was also delicious (particularly the dessert) and the price acceptable. The flaws of the hotel are more like bugs, but I will mentioned them nevertheless more as comments than critique. The rooms were not very comfortable in terms of sitting and sleeping; the chairs were hard and disagreeable, the bed and the pillow way too soft. The air condition was almost non-existent so we had to have the windows open at night (and it was still hot). Although the breakfast was impressive, the refilling was not. It seemed the staff could not keep up with more than a couple of guests; we came just before the rush and was able to get hold of the warm dishes, but many after us did have to wait. In my experience one ought to begin refilling when the tray/container is half-empty, not when its completely empty.

The décor is modern, chic, and clearly meant to distract you from the sauna-like experience of your room. A true feast for the senses—well, all senses except comfort. In conclusion, if you’re looking for a boutique hotel that combines urban charm, authentic European heat, and the delightful roar of city life at all hours, the Hotel Wilenski is your place. Bring earplugs, a fan, and a deep, abiding sense of irony. You’ll need all three.
