It was at the initiative of a prominent figure of the time, Mr Jeremias da Conceição Dias, that Marvão was endowed with its first hotel establishment. The day we arrived the weather was terrible with rain and heavy fog. The staff checked us in as soon as a room was available which was fantastic and much appreciated.
