We were attending a conference at the Paul VI Convention Center, that is around 3 blocks from the hotel, so location was perfect. The room was very nice and with good amenities, also it was very quiet as well, so I had two nights of very good sleep. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice and with plenty of nice things to eat in the morning, so it is a very good venue if attending a conference. Also they were very nice to allow me a late check out.

“VERY VERY GOOD !”

We spent 2 nights at Sao Jose in a double room. The staff provided excellent service. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. We spent 2 nights at Sao Jose in a double room. The staff provided excellent service. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. Breakfast offered plenty of (very good) choices. The location - very close to the sanctuary - is perfect. We could easily find a spot to park our car close to the hotel. All in all, this was a great stay! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

“Hotel decent, location over rated”

I stayed here on September 24/25, the same day as our stop in Tomar, we went to the church plaza where you can do that walk called “The Camino De Fatimo” and this is where they complete the walk to the church, we stayed at this hotel which is right next to this plaza. The outside had a snoopy picture painted on the window which I really liked and as you go into the building on the far right is a restaurant but I never went into there, there is a ramp and a set of stairs, and a seating area, reception is a few steps from the front area, there is a small gift shop, and elevators, my room was a short walk from the elevators through the hallways which was moderately light up, I was in room 212, the room was nice and clean but small, there was a large bed, small desk and a chair, a fridge, a single chair next to desk, 2 side tables with lights and the bathroom had a nice sink area, toilet and shower. Overall this room despite being very small it has nice. I as did some of the others felt like this hotel stop could have been skipped and we could of went to a different place, there was nothing special except that it’s about the religious factor. Our tour guide bought us a single drink before dinner and I had a juice which I think was a either an orange juice or something else I don’t recall now but it was a tasty juice. For dinner this night they had a small buffet type setup for everyone to get in a lineup and grab food, though it’s such a small area that it was a tight squeeze to grab food and if you missed something it was hard to go back until later on. This hotel was a fairly nice place but I would not want to come back only because it was an over rated place in my personal opinion. 4 of 5 for nice hotel 4 of 5 for good small buffet choice, though small area 4 of 5 for my nice room 4 of 5 overall for the hotel and food

“Would have been five stars but for two things...”

I paid about $87/night for five nights with Priceline and Orbitz. Credit cards accepted. Phenomenal location--bus station, Pingo Doce, Sanctuary all a short distance away. Excellent included buffet breakfast. Lunch buffet also a good deal. Dinner looked too pricy. Room not huge but plenty of space.… more

Excellent included buffet breakfast. Lunch buffet also a good deal. Dinner looked too pricy. Room not huge but plenty of space. Very clean. Bathroom plenty of room. Shower great--overhead and detachable, but, BUT, there was a trick to getting them to switch over. It should only be a press of a button. Room came with minifridge...that did not work. Minifridge was switched the second day and new one worked fine. Powerful aircon and perfect wifi. Two free bottles of water every day. Staff friendly and efficient. Decent gym. If the shower didn't require inside information and the minifridge worked originally, this would be five stars...
