“Looks ordinary from outside, but fantastic inside”
We were given a great, spacious room with balcony overlooking the garden/pool area. The bed and bedding were excellent for a good nights sleep. “So glad we chose this location. Had a very comfortable enjoyable stay”
We really enjoyed this hotel. The room was large with a great bed and very quiet. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help with anything. The whole site is worth exploring with fascinating things to see. The pool area is lovely. Parking is free

“Brilliant choice of a hotel stay in a castel.”
Portuguese government rebuilt many castles and renamed them Pausada as a move to utilise these heritage places. This is one of them, but now run by a private company. This is a very unique hotel steeped in history. A former convent converted very tastefully and situated above the Sado river. An excellent welcome from the reception and then directed to a small restaurant 5 minutes away whilst our room was being prepared. It was comfortable and quiet and the buffet breakfast was fine...although the toasters never seem to function well anywhere and you end up with hard un-toasted bread...… more
