I had a fantastic stay at EPIC SANA Marquês Hotel and would definitely rate it 10/10. The hotel is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean. My room was stylish, spacious, and very comfortable, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The location is great, 20 minutes by foot to the city center and 5 min to the metro station. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality food. One of the highlights of my stay was the outdoor pool, which offers an incredible view over the city—it was easily one of the best hotel pool views I’ve ever experienced. What made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone at the reception was incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help with any questions or requests. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon. I would happily stay here again.

Location was in the financial district which was a 20 minute walk uphill from the arts and shopping area. We had an issue with the 2 rooms I booked through my Southwest Airlines Credit Card. The solution that the front desk assistant manager provided was upgrading us to the Presidents Suite (for a small nominal fee) with an adjoining room for our family of 6. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel atmosphere was luxury. There was nightly entertainment in the bar lobby with live singing and piano. The rooftop pool provides a great view of the city with a nice small bar. My son used the gym daily and was happy with the equipment.

An amazing hotel! The staff is on top of everything, extremely professional and interactive, pleasant, and helpful! Our room was extremely clean and well maintained and larger than expected. Housekeeping was top notch and little amenities like slippers and a bathrobe were much appreciated! We made use of the swimming pool, spa, and bar and were very happy with our experiences at each location. My spouse got a message and was extremely happy with the experience. You are not going to find a larger and better breakfast bar in Lisbon! Overall, arguably the nicest hotel I have stayed at in my 68 years and the staff is equal or better than any you will find elsewhere.

I stayed at the hotel for a total of 9 days. It’s elegant and modern. In terms of room size, mine was decent and inviting. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, and the noise level was almost nonexistent. For those who want to be close to the center, the hotel’s location is central while escaping the crowds of Baixa. Unfortunately, the service was subpar for the most part. At check-in, I was given minimal information about breakfast being downstairs and the QR code on the key card for the room service menu. Everything felt like a scavenger hunt, and I was a detective. The QR code took me to the hotel's webpage, which I could not access because it required a PIN, about which I was not informed. I eventually found it, but it did not work. I finally enlisted the help of a member of staff. The room telephone was another part of the scavenger hunt. In hotels around the world, the telephone itself clearly shows how to contact reception, guest services, and other departments. Here, you have to pick up the handset before the relevant buttons and information become visible. One of my reasons for booking Epic Sana Marquês was the availability of on-site restaurants. Ironically, I ended up using none of them. Because of the lack of information and my late discovery of the QR/PIN system, Uber Eats and Bolt Food became much easier options. I also only discovered information about some of the hotel's other facilities closer to the end of my stay and therefore did not use them. Housekeeping was a big disappointment and would receive 1/5 from me. The desire to respect my privacy seemed random and at the whim of whoever was on the rounds that day. For example, I once found it at 7 am and some other days it was at 3 pm. The funny thing is, I sometimes saw them cleaning my floor at 6 or even 7 pm. I did feel that my room was simply being skipped. Given how dissatisfied I felt in general, I did not feel the need to bring it up during my stay. Interestingly, my experience at departure was much better. The gentleman who checked me out and the staff who assisted with my luggage seemed genuinely interested in hearing my feedback. I appreciated that, but sadly, it was a tad too late. Those used to staying at Marriott, Sheraton, InterContinental, or Ritz-Carlton should not expect the same level of service and guest orientation. That would help you adjust your expectations. Despite the central location and good quality sleep, Epic Sana Marques is not a place I would recommend should I return to Lisbon, especially off-season.
