We recently returned from Lisbon staying at the Mundial Hotel. Although there are renovations taking place this does not affect you. Would be nice to have a walk in shower but I am sure this will be done during the renovation. All the Staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. Roof top bar has great views of the city. The 28 tram stops outside the hotel, well worth the trip around the city but you can wait up to an hour as they fill up pretty quick. The only disadvantage of this Hotel of an evening there are homeless people congregate opposite the Hitel playing loud music and leaving litter.

“Solid four-star in a great location”

Entering the hotel, I was met by a friendly receptionist who spoke good English. The check-in process was swift and I was soon on my way to my room on the 3rd floor. Do note that you need to pay the room tax, 4 EUR/night, on arrival. The room was of average size and did not feel cramped. There are certainly four-star hotels out there where rooms are a lot smaller. The bed was comfortable, the AC efficient enough and wifi free, fast and easy to use. There was a desk and chair as well as an armchair, but no coffee table even if there would have been room for one. While there was no socket by the bed, there was one at floor-level relatively close to the bed, so with a long cord, I was able to charge my phone by the bed. There was a safe as well as a minibar, but no free bottled water. A 1L water bottle was available at a cost of 3 euros, which did not feel like a nice welcome. The room was clean and in good condition. The bathroom came with a bathtub, with a handheld shower with excellent water pressure. Sadly, the hotel plans to get rid of most bathtubs as part of the upcoming renovations. Amenities were scarce; there were wall-mounted hand soap, shower gel and shampoo containers and that's it. I don't like these wall-mounted containers as they are not tamper-proof and I have read too many stories about what kind of stuff end up in those containers. No body lotion, conditioner, dental kits, shaving kits etc were provided. Breakfast was served in the 1st floor breakfast room from 7 to 10:30 and was included in my room rate. Surprisingly, they wanted me to give a set time at which I wished to have breakfast, probably to ease congestion, but it sure reminded me of covid times. The spread was your average European four star breakfast, nothing extraordinary but all the usual items were there. Boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, breads, juices as well as machine-prepared coffee. The hotel enjoys an excellent location right on the southern side of Praça Martim Moniz, with Rossio and Baixa a few minutes' walk away and lots of restaurants nearby. There is a Continente supermarket on the ground floor, open every day from 8:30 am to 9 pm. The metro to the airport takes 35 minutes. I paid 140 EUR/night including taxes and breakfast, and found the hotel to be good value. It was not my first time here, and will certainly not be the last, either.
