“Exceptional location and value”

Really loved this hotel and the location was spectacular. We did hop on off bus from the front door and were able to walk most places. The room was lovely and we were lucky to get a balcony unit. Pool / rooftop terrace was really beautiful; enjoyed the expansive breakfast that was offered there. Only negative was a random sewer smell from the bathroom at times. Otherwise would have been 5's all the way. I know it's an older building and we are not so fussy as some so it didn't bother us so much as it might others.

“Paying for the location, but worth it.”

Firstly, from check in up until check out the staff were great. Helpful with any information that we needed related to the hotel or Lisbon in general. We stayed in a Studio twin room. Bed area - good enough space for 2 people, there was a cupboard with hangers and a safe in. A set of draws in between the beds that was ideal to put our drinks on whilst laying on the bed. There was a massive desk in the room, which although i'm sure some people would use i'd say it is very oversized even for those needing it for work purposes. Theres a table and chairs for you to eat at if you decide to eat in the room. Kitchen - although we only used it to store snacks and drinks in the kitchen area was more like a step in cupboard. The glasses and cutlery we used were clean but that's all we used. The fridge/freezer was off when we arrived but that wasn't an issue for us as even if it was on we probably wouldn't have used it anyway. Bathroom - clean and the only thing you really need to take for yourself is your toothbrush and tooth paste. Shower was powerful and got very hot so be careful! Lifts - there are 2 lifts which are pretty small however the only time we had to wait was on the 1st day when there was multiple people checking in. Terrace bar/pool - we only went up to the terrace on the last day after we had to leave the room. During the warmer months I can see it being busy up there as it was nice to be sitting there enjoying the view. The pool is small and an odd shape but would do to keep the kids busy. Food - one night we had room service as we had a long day out and fancied an easy option for food. We did not regret it, food was a good size and of decent quality. Location - location of this hotel is what you pay for. Close to the seafront and many things to go and sightsee within easy walking distance. There are definately nicer hotels in Lisbon that are at a similar price point, however you will be further away from everything. You are paying a premium for the location, which i'd say is worth it if you are planning to sightsee. Ideally i'd give this a 3.5 star rather than a 4, but it deserves better than a 3.

Location is everything with this hotel, it’s a very impressive building in an ideal position for exploring. Buses and the metro are literally outside the door, we used the metro straight from the airport . Across the square and behind the main street is probably the best area for bars and restaurants catering for all tastes & budgets The hotel room was very spacious with wonderful views, but everything is a little tired and in need of some refurbishment. The rooftop pool & bar were lovely spaces to relax with wonderful attentive staff. We ended each evening with a nitecap and the amazing view. The little kitchen area was useful for preparing a snack or drink, there is a small supermarket, turn right outside the hotel and go past Starbucks down the side street. Overall we were very happy with our decision to stay here.

“Average hotel, quite dirty”

We arrived at the hotel and felt positive as the reception is very clean and nice, as we got to the hallway of where our room was we realise it probably wouldn't be great - stained red carpets and corridors that you had to turn lights on yourself otherwise you'd be walking in pitch black, reminded me of the start of a horror film. When we got to our room it seemed clean and spacious so I was happy with that, when I went to the bathroom we noticed that the toilet didn't flush, the bath was dirty, had imprints of an old bath mat in and had black spots all over the bath. As I used the hairdryer I burnt myself as I didn't notice there was wires hanging out of the hairdryer leaving the heat exposed to my wrist and arm. The carpet in the bedroom was covered in similar stains to the carpet outside the rooms so I'm unsure what this was from but could've easily been cleaned with a carpet cleaner. Due to how dirty our room and bathroom was we didn't want to chance the pool. We had to complain to 2 different staff members about our room, the second guy was extremely helpful, he moved us to another room on the same floor and gave us complimentary breakfast. The second room was definitely a lot cleaner but still not worth the price we paid. The breakfast was standard to what you'd find abroad, I personally wasn't a fan of it but the room was busy so must've been popular - the pictures aren't what you actually get though. Overall the hotel was ok, I'd say it should be a 2 or 3 star rather than a 4, the location was near shops if that's what you're after, we booked as it was advertised as close to barrio alto but this was a 20 minute walk (all up hill). Probably wouldn't stay again unless it was at a cheaper rate,
