I give the staff 5 stars; they gave their all. Special thanks to Derek, who always had a smile on his face and was very helpful. Thanks also to Joana at reception, very competent. Thank you to all the chefs, and thank you to all the staff in Sri Lanka. Without the staff, I would have changed hotels, as all I could see was a wall, the room was very dark, and the chair was unfortunately stained, although otherwise very clean. This hotel is also well located.

Delightful staff upon checking in, especially considering I arrived at 8AM and check-in wasn’t until 3PM. I knew that my room wouldn’t be ready, but they promised they’d do everything they could to get me an early check-in. I was super grateful! Incredibly grateful my room was ready well before the check-in time in the end (they had one available around 11am) and I was able to have a shower after a 12-hour flight from New York. Room was clean and spacious, and whilst the water temperature was excellent in the bathroom, the water pressure was poor (maybe because it had to travel all the way to the 11th floor?). I also found the room walls super thin — I had a young family in the room next to me and could hear everything, including one of the kids crying all day :( Gym was small but well stocked. INSIDER TIP: there’s a water cooler in the gym, so be sure to fill up your reusable bottles with cold, filtered water before you head out for the day! I was incredibly impressed with the breakfast! I went down a little earlier than I normally would, nervous that it might’ve been packed, but the breakfast area was absolutely huge (both the seating area as well as the food stations themselves). Staff were lovely, and even though there was a typical Hampton Inn offering for breakfast (waffles, syrups, toast, eggs and sausages), there was also a whole range of salads, fresh fruits, and Middle Eastern fare. I was definitely blown away! I chose to stay here because I am a loyal Hilton Honors member, and whilst I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travelers, I think next time I’d like to stay a little closer to the action. Whilst I did walk everywhere, it was very hot outside in May! And the closest metro is a 10-minute walk.

“Small but clean and comfortable room.”

Wonderful staff at this Hilton. New, clean but small room. Very busy dining room at free breakfast. Omar at the small cafe was very helpful. Door staff were very knowledgeable about local places to visit.
