“Solo stay”
I was in Syktyvkar for a week visiting assorted family and friends but didn't want to impose on anyone so booked a single room at this hotel. “Good by Russian standards”
Ok, the downside: The staff don't speak English (but you're outside Moscow, right?) - the upside: it's a fairly good hotel in a safe location, reasonably priced and all the taxi drivers know it. “so far so good”
The hotel is expensive compared with the standard,for example the bath rooms are tiny. I just wish the restaurant will keep the good kitchen. A long menu and not all is available, but what we have eaten so far, very delicious.

“ok for 1 night”
The hotel is typical Soviet-style - literally (it is built in 1980) and metaphorically (tiny single rooms, a relatively clean bathroom, no tablecloth on tables during the breakfast). I paid over $100 per night for a single room - it is NOT a fair price for such a place.
