We just returned from a 6 night stay at Anse Chastanet. This trip was a dive trip with a few of us non divers tagging along. Our room, 15B, was an upgraded room with a view of the sea only. The building with rooms 15 are the first rooms above the Treehouse restaurant. Which means we could usually hear the kitchen from our room. Our room was spacious but dark due to it being all wood. There is suggestive artwork throughout which was interesting. The room is all open with no screens except for the bathroom window that overlooks into the living room/balcony. There is turndown service nightly where they ready your bed, the netting, and light a large mosquito coil. There are multiple ceiling fans and we had 2 standalone fans as well pointed toward the bed. The first night was loud with the noises from birds, frogs, insects, and lizards (did not know lizards make sounds like that). We found out earplugs are available which helped the remaining nights. The temperature without AC was bearable especially if you take a cool shower before bed. Mornings were enjoyed with coffee on our patio prior to breakfast with our group at 7am. Overall, the room was acceptable and bearable but I would not pick this room again due to lack of the best view and being above the restaurant. Now let’s talk food, OMG so good! This is where this place stood out. Every meal was fantastic! Especially the desserts! Always get a dessert here. Especially since you will walk it off with the stairs and hill climbs. Also, there is a shuttle at all times available to get you up and down from the beach so don’t let the stairs deter you from this place. But if you have a mobility issue, this resort may not be the best option. Non diver activities were great! I did the chocolate lab activity where I made my own chocolate bar and bon bons. So fun! This is done at Jade Mountain. Beach huts and lounges available for guests only (public beach) and non resort guests are quickly shooed away so plenty of chairs and space for all guests. No need to run down to save seats! The water is warm at 82 degrees and clearest water I’ve ever seen! Snorkeling right off the beach was fun with turtles and even a school of squid. Would I come here again? Absolutely! Would I request an AC room on the beach? Absolutely!!

If you’re looking for a 5 star resort with plenty to do, absolutely gorgeous dives, delicious food and unbeatable customer service, then book this place. We were so delighted with our stay and will return some day!! I laughed when so many of the reviews talked about the stairs in this place, but they weren’t kidding! Haha I personally thought it was awesome, but if you had a total knee or hip replacement in the last couple months, it might prove to be a little challenging.

We spent a week at Anse Chastenet choosing a standard room to enable us to have the budget to do as much as we wanted. In such an amazing place who wants to spend all day in the room! It was wonderful. The room/suite was large, immaculate and very comfortable. A huge bathroom and simply everything had been thought of and provided, even mosquito spray but truly they were not a problem. There was no air con but huge ceiling fans in both bedroom/bathroom plus two others electric fans. A fridge was stocked daily and we had local banana cake left as a welcome along with local rum plus a gorgeous syrup to have with it. All of this and a wonderful view of the Pitons one way and the ocean the other. I can only imagine how incredible the top standard rooms were. This resort is set on many different levels which just makes it all the more interesting and gives it an intimate feel. Yes there are a LOT of steps but you can just ask for a shuttle at anytime if you wish, in fact upon check in you are given a mobile phone that is yours for the duration of your stay for any needs you may have. I don’t want to go into detail about everything because you really have to experience it. Different restaurants across the resort where food is consistently good and presented to a very high level. Service is brilliant with the exceptional Caribbean warmth and hospitality . I must make a special mention to Chef Shawn and team at the Grill for an incredible steak meal. The beaches are beautiful with first class sunbeds/parasols and incredible beach service with good beach grills for lunch. Take a short 10 min stroll to Anse Mamin beach, smaller quieter, softer sand and great food. The grounds/gardens are beautiful and very well cared for. The very lovely guest services are available daily and I strongly recommend that you check out what is on offer and explore this beautiful island. We felt extremely safe and welcome wherever we went. The credentials of this resort are also to be commended. It is exceptionally well run, stunning, relaxed, top class, and simply had something for everyone. JUST GO!!!!!!!

We have been to Anse Chastanet several times over many years. It continues to draw us in. We love living up in the tree canopy with the open air. We love the road in, the steps to the beach. We loved the welcome back we received from so many staff working in all areas of the hotel. We love the birds, 21 pelicans, roosting above the dive centre, 4 turtles on a snorkel from the beach and this year a whale breaching in front of the hotel which got everyone buzzing. Lovely improvements everywhere. A big swimming area, beach toilets, colourful painting. If all this appeals to you then I recommend this hotel. We will return
