My family and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants both quality and convenience of location. The food at the buffet for breakfast and dinner was excellent. There is a wide variety of different international cuisine and the food is of very good quality. The wait staff are attentive without being intrusive and have all been well trained. We had two rooms booked. A prestige suite with partial haram view and a deluxe room, also with partial haram view. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade the deluxe room to a junior suite due to my Accor status and also accommodated my request for both rooms to be on the same floor which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard, something which we appreciated more after our stay in Makkah where we had a very different hotel experience. The reception staff at the Sofitel were quick and efficient and helpful. The hotel is extremely well located and only a few minutes walk away from the haram ladies entrance. Our last trip to Madinah was in Haj 2014 where we stayed at the Dar Al Taqwah which is adjacent. The Sofitel had not been built then and Madinah generally looked very different. The public realm area near the hotel is a huge improvement and there is enough space for the crowds to move around. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

We checked in to Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah on 1 April and checked out on 4 April. We originally booked a family suite. Alhamdulillah, the reception staff Hajer and Ashraf kindly assisted us and provided a different room that was much more comfortable, spacious, and pleasant for our family. They were extremely polite, professional, and very attentive in serving us. Their hospitality truly made our stay memorable. They even upgraded our room, which we deeply appreciated. Their kindness, patience, and warm attitude reflect the excellent standards of the hotel. We have stayed at this hotel many times before, and every visit has been a wonderful experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food is delicious, and the hotel staff are very helpful and professional. The location is also excellent, with very convenient and close access to Al Haram, which makes the stay even more special for guests visiting Madinah. We would especially like to give 5 stars to Hajer and Ashraf for their outstanding service. They truly deserve recognition for their dedication and professionalism. We sincerely hope the hotel management will appreciate their hard work, reward them well, and consider promoting them, as they represent the very best of hospitality. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We always enjoy staying at this hotel and look forward to returning again in the future.

I would rate my experience a 3 out of 5. The rooms were slightly outdated. There were dirty hair on the bathroom walls which grossed me out. So definitely have issues with cleanliness. What really stood out was the staff, they were very friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with. The breakfast area was pleasant and offered a wide variety of options, which was a great start to each day. The location was also ideal, with the masjid and nearby shops within perfect walking distance. Overall, the price was fair for the time we visited, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
