We booked The Village based on recommendations from family and friends who had stayed here and raved about how good it was for families. The hotel is a brilliant family hotel, it's clean, comfortable and has all of the amenities you need. It's in a fantastic location, walking distance to Universal, the Waterpark and the Oceanarium, with Starbucks, a 7/11, the MRT, and other transport options easily accessible. We loved how easy it made it to explore Sentosa, and felt like we were based in the perfect spot. Having heard the rooms were quite small, we chose to upgrade to a Deluxe Room which was worth the upgrade as gave us a lot more space. I was disappointed that there was no wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes though, and only space to store one suitcase by the bathroom/front door area which meant we were tripping over the other suitcase. For a family of 4 with kids 11 & 7, it had everything we needed though. BUT we were very disappointed by the pool area. We had been notified at booking that the Adventure Pool would be closed, but were shocked to discover after checking in that the sunlounger area in the main pool, as well as the swim up pool bar were both closed with regrouting of the tiling happening. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was for the pool and most of what we had planned to use was closed. The rest of the Pamukkale pool had tiles chipped off and damaged and was in desperate need of repair as well, however given the Adventure Pool was closed, it was our only option with the kids being too big for the kids' pool. I did complain to reception and was told we could use the swim up pool bar at the sister hotel, but we weren't able to given that hotel is childfree and we had kids with us. I stressed the fact that there was no communication about the closure of the Pamukkale pool terraces as well as the swim up pool bar. Surely a simple email with options to cancel/change our booking would have been easy to do, or even advising us when we checked in, however we were left to discover this ourselves which made it even more disappointing. I feel the hotel is choosing not to advise people as they don't want to lose the bookings. Overall we were happy with our stay, but would have appreciated knowing about the pool situation in advance
