Visiting Rhino Ridge for the first time was a truly exciting and amazing experience. On arrival we were welcomed by smart, smiling staff who were obviously keen to make our stay a happy and relaxing time. We were informed of the next Game Drive and after refreshing ourselves enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with fruit and cakes and beverages. We joined the first of our Game Drives, we enjoyed four altogether, two morning and two afternoon. I can’t compliment or Ranger Guide enough. Sinda made sure our Safari’s were to remember, he was empathetic to my hearing needs and welcomed questions (we had a lot). His knowledge of everything from Dung Beetles to Grey Foam Nest Tree Frogs and of course the resident Wildlife was so impressive. He held our interest (setting up a refreshments bar at the mid point stage) the Drive passed with us viewing many many Creatures - it’s what we came for! Back at the Lodge we found our rooms very clean, spacious and comfortable. All room facilities were provided, Tea/Coffee and well stocked refrigerator. The shower room looked out over Park scenery with notable Animals grazing. In fact the whole accommodation was totally private with fantastic views. The quality of food and service was top of the scale in a comfortable spacious dining area with a relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff. Our whole time there was so very enjoyable, we would definitely return again. Other guest facilities were available but we just couldn’t fit it all in this time.

Location was amazing ,scenery was stunning.Very friendly atmosphere when you arrive and are greeted by the staff who explained everything in detail about times of game drives ,meal times and all facilities.We stayed in lodge no 2 which was beautiful and spotlessly clean .All facilities in the room were excellent,hot drinks,cold drinks,snacks.Breakfast was lovely and you had a lovely choice of hot or cold breakfasts ,afternoon tea was served for lunch and again lots of choice,salads,savouries and delicious cakes and a different choice every day .We went on two morning drives and two afternoon drives which were amazing .We had a very knowledgeable driver Sinda who told us about so many interesting things .When we arrived back from afternoon drive we then had dinner and again the staff were so attentive and friendly .The food was excellent.

We had a wonderful time at Rhino Ridge. It is a special place. The staff were lovely and the whole stay was perfect. The hotel manager Thami and his team treated us so well. We travel regularly and we can say without a doubt that Thami was exceptional as the hotel Manager. Our Luggage had been lost by the Airline and the hotel did everything they could to look after us. Thami's care and attentiveness to our situation was reassuring. His leadership in customer service definitely impressed us, as did his team. Thami helped make many calls on our behalf with the airline in an effort to be reunited with our luggage and resolve the issue before Christmas day. We know he even took calls off duty to try and reunite us with our luggage. We were so impressed by him as the manager. Thami also arranged for us to be driven into the local town to buy clothes with a Safari Tour Guide called Fizol who was lovely. At the Lodge the Safari tours were twice daily, at dawn and dusk. Rhino Ridge is located within the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, which is the oldest Nature Reserve in South Africa. We saw four of the big five there in four days and only missed out on the elusive Leopards! We liked that the safari truck stayed to the road networks inside the Reserve, giving the wild animals hundreds of miles of their own space and habitat without human intrusion. Our guide Sinda was a real character, very experienced as a guide, enthusastic and knowledgable. He kept us safe and we felt safe. His experience reassured us as this was our first safari and it can be unnerving, especially being so close to Lions and Elephants! The food and dining was beautful. The dining room setting was very open plan, high up overlooking the Nature reserve. My husband informed the Manager Thami that it was our anniversary, and on the night the staff performed an suprise impromptu live music ceremony for us. They also decorated our room with flower petals. It was lovely. We definitely recommend Rhino ridge and we hope to return again. It was a magical place.
