I booked the accommodation for a friend from the USA and she was thrilled with it. It was the perfect location from which to enjoy Cape Town, and all the fun and well as all the security and safety that a young solo traveler could wish for. Highly recommended.

The views are stunning, the rooms are clean, and the location is good. Unfortunately, those are the only positives I can give. In the photos and the welcome manual, a pool and gym are advertised. Only after arrival did we find out that the 12th floor is locked due to some kind of dispute, meaning the pool and gym are not accessible. This is something guests should be told upfront. The window in our room was cracked, and the sliding door was very difficult to open. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so you rely on fans. The fan in our room only worked properly on about two speeds. When this was reported, maintenance said the sensor was faulty and there would be a waiting period. We were also not informed at check-in that hair dryers are not standard and must be requested separately. Housekeeping kept taking away our towels and did not bring it back, only got it back when we asked for it. Children misbehaved in the hotel and kept playing with the elevator, and was reported to reception. To make matters worse, the lift went out of service when we returned from the beach. We had to climb ten flights of stairs. Parts of the stairwell appeared unfinished, with no lighting, and we had to use our phone lights to see where we were going, which is unacceptable from a safety point of view. Might be the kids playing with the elevators that caused the breakdown. The basement parking also did not feel safe as it was not very well lit and at time we were far from the lifts. On arrival we only had 3 forks and on our booking it was clearly stated we are 4 we reported it and housekeeping brought us an extra one. The tumble drier at the laundry room was also broken, so we could not utilize it,which would have been convenient and a,plus for the rating on our stay. The windows are often sandy, which makes it difficult to properly enjoy the otherwise beautiful view. At around R21,000 for seven days, this is not cheap accommodation. For that price, the overall experience should be much better. If you want to justify a 3- or 4-star rating, there is a lot that needs improvement.
