I have great pleasure in giving this 5 star rating. My wife and I have stayed at many of the InterContinental establishments across the world and we are in agreement that this was without doubt one of the best. From our greeting and walkaround with Mario, the bartender Thato (mixologist supreme) that invented new cocktails for us and made us laugh, and Tess Lee who served us in the Le Bistrot de JAN Cape Town restaurant, the staff as a whole were fantastic. They played a big part in making our stay here so special. The views from the ground floor and rooms were breathtaking, postcard worthy. The spa facility was really good. Very close to the V&A Waterfront precinct so you can satisfy shopping, sightseeing and entertainment needs easily. Close to other attractions like Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope and many more which make good day trips. Would have no hesitation in recommending InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town to friends, family and anyone else. Would stay there again in a heat beat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10) I want to preface this review by stating that we have stayed in many 5 star establishments in Cape town. In my opinion this hotel is the rising star amongst the lot and in our opinion it offers the best in luxury accommodation that cape town has to offer. From the moment you walk through the doors, the hospitality at the InterContinental Cape Town Waterfront is simply exceptional. We were welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable stay. Receiving a complimentary room upgrade was a wonderful surprise, and our suite with a private balcony overlooking the harbour was absolutely spectacular. Waking up to breathtaking views of the harbour and Table Mountain each day was a highlight of our trip. The location is unbeatable, with direct access to the V&A Waterfront, making it incredibly convenient to explore the area's shops, restaurants, and attractions. What truly makes this hotel special is its people. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel valued and at home. The front desk team, butlers, bartenders, guest relations staff, managers, and manageress all deserve special recognition for their outstanding service, friendliness, and attention to detail. Their passion for hospitality is evident in every interaction. The food was consistently excellent, and we found ourselves spending many relaxing afternoons in the Club Lounge, enjoying the superb service, delicious refreshments, and magnificent views. The hotel itself is aesthetically stunning, with elegant interiors that perfectly complement the incredible scenery surrounding it. My wife also enjoyed a treatment at the spa and couldn't stop talking about how relaxing and professional the experience was. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable. This hotel truly deserves every accolade and all the recognition it receives. Beautiful hotel in an outstanding safe location. Newly refurbished. The lobby is open and airy. Views of the harbor are lovely. Directly connected to huge shopping mall and the entire V&A Waterfront. The staff is warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. The cons are there is still a lot of construction going on in front of the hotel. If you have a harbor view room …no problem. While the hotel has been open for 6 months, service seemed very slow in terms of housekeeping and food in the Club. Expecting it will only improve.

“Unhospitable experience for 5 star hotel”

The space is beautiful, the waiter was obliging, took our order and the coffee was average. The view overlooks part of the waterfront and the lounge area was comfortable, clean toilets and well decorated. We visited at 11h00 when there was only one couple sitting near to us and the rest of the place was empty. After a long night at hospital with my mom nearing the end of her life, I thought to take a break and come to the hotel for some space. I was seated with my legs crossed, both on the ground and fell asleep againts one of the pillows for a while. My daughter was then instructed to wake me up. I have never experienced such pettiness and unkindness. Perhaps the staff can be educated that there are reasons why guests may drift into sleepiness such as jetlag, exhaustion, illness. I am truly shocked that an establishment like this is so petty, compared to places like Cape Grace, Cellars Hohenhort, who I have found to be more inviting.
