This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Second time was just as good as the first time six years ago. We stayed on the Club level room. The Taj club was fine - some breakfast items in the morning. However, we preferred to go down to the regular restaurant for breakfast as it has a much larger variety of items to choose from. In the evening, the Club had some snacks, different ones daily. All the people we interacted with were warm, courteous and helpful. We had great interaction with the head chef - Rakesh Pawar, who had just taken over 3 weeks prior. We had ordered some Chinese food in their Asian bistro which was not up to par in our opinion and mentioned it to our waitress. The next thing we know is the head chef coming over to our table and wanting to get feedback on the food we had ordered. At first, I thought he was just being polite but he was genuinely interested in our feedback - he took notes. We must have talked for good 45 minutes. Without telling us, he comped our meal. The next night we went to their flagship restaurant - Bombay Brassiere, and we were treated like royalty. He made some appetizer dishes that were not on the menu but he was considering adding them to the menu. I forget the name of the dishes but they were just great. And he again took notes on our feedback. We had a wonderful dinner and got so much attention from the staff. Frankly speaking, we are not used to that but I have to admit, we did enjoy it. The thing that impressed me most was not the food (which was excellent) but the chef’s outlook - taking notes on a random customers feedback. I can see the restaurant menu and food quality elevating.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, professionalism, and outstanding hospitality. The level of service we received was truly remarkable and made us feel valued and appreciated throughout our visit. A very special thank you goes to our waiter, Yusuf, whose attentiveness, friendliness, and commitment to excellence made our experience truly unforgettable. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable, well taken care of, and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our meal. His positive attitude, patience, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident throughout the evening and did not go unnoticed. Yusuf is a true asset to the restaurant and embodies what exceptional customer service should be. I would also like to commend Jamiel, the Restaurant Manager, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to customer satisfaction. His warm presence, professionalism, and personal engagement with guests created an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. It is clear that he takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and service excellence, and this is reflected throughout the restaurant. The food was absolutely outstanding—beautifully presented, rich in flavour, and prepared to perfection. Every dish reflected exceptional quality, creativity, and care. Combined with the elegant ambiance, sophisticated setting, and impeccable service, the entire dining experience exceeded our expectations in every way. In a time when truly exceptional customer service is becoming increasingly rare, the team at Bombay Brasserie Restaurant stands out as a shining example of hospitality done right. Yusuf and Jamiel are a credit to the establishment, and their passion for ensuring guests have a memorable experience is evident in every interaction. Thank you for making our visit on 24 May 2026 such a special and unforgettable occasion. My mom and I left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for the care and attention we received. We had a wonderful stay at the Taj Cape Town Hotel. The hotel features a beautiful, classic style, and the rooms are gorgeous, clean, and come equipped with a lovely bathtub. The gym was also impressive—very clean with a good variety of equipment. The pool is quite small and located indoors, which made it feel a bit cramped. For breakfast, there was a nice selection available, combining both a buffet line and an à la carte menu that you can order from. The highlight of my stay was definitely the front office team. They were incredibly friendly and willing to help. On our first day, my husband accidentally left his mobile phone in a taxi, and the bellboys showed genuine concern and were eager to help us contact the driver. It was very comforting! The only downsides were some of the restaurant staff. Also, while a few restaurant staff members were lovely, the majority looked grumpy, lacked a welcoming attitude, and didn't seem very service-minded. Overall, it’s a beautiful property with fantastic front-of-house service, but the restaurant staff behavior could be improved.

We recently stayed at Taj Cape Town for three nights with our family. There were several aspects of our stay that were truly enjoyable, along with a few service gaps that prevented the experience from meeting the standards we've come to expect from the Taj brand. The airport pickup was seamless and made for a great start to our stay. Tareeq from the concierge team was exceptional—always helpful, professional, and full of excellent recommendations that enhanced our visit to Cape Town. We also had a wonderful dining experience at Mint, where Felicia provided warm and attentive service. The food and staff at Bombay Brasserie were equally impressive and among the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, breakfast service was consistently disappointing throughout our three mornings. Food items were not replenished promptly, labels were sometimes incorrect, and several tables appeared to be completely overlooked by the waitstaff. After observing the same issues for three consecutive days, we shared our feedback with the Executive Chef, who listened attentively and handled the feedback with professionalism and genuine concern. We were celebrating my husband's birthday during our stay, and the hotel kindly sent a dessert to our room, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, no cutlery accompanied it—one of several small details that seemed to be overlooked. These finer touches matter, particularly at a luxury property. The most disappointing moment came during checkout. I requested a bottle of water from the front desk so I could give my son his medication. I was told that if I wanted cold water, I should go to the gym, and if I wanted room-temperature water, I could get it from a bathroom on the second floor. This response was surprising and inappropriate for a hotel of this caliber. Only after expressing my frustration did another staff member step in and promptly assist me with a bottle of water. Having stayed at many Taj properties across India, I know the level of hospitality and attention to detail that the brand is capable of delivering. Taj Cape Town has many strengths—a beautiful property, excellent concierge support, and some standout dining experiences—but it needs to sharpen its service consistency and attention to detail to truly live up to the Taj standards guests expect.
