“A super hotel”

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The best aspect is the food which is fabulous, very high end but great value. Also the wine list is brilliant with a very wide selection. The reception staff are friendly and helpful too.?

“The Townhouse Hotel met all my expectations!”

I stayed in Cape Town in March 2020 for just over 2 weeks. I was in Cape Town attending a Conference at the Iziko Museum of South Africa and the Townhouse was listed as one of the Conference Hotels. It was very close to the Museums I needed to attend and to those I wanted to visit. It was only blocks away from Long Street where much of the action is and lots of great restaurants are. Plus it's only a 10-15 min ride to the V&A Waterfront by Uber. The hotel is clean and the rooms and bed very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent - especially the amazing breakfast buffet. But what made the stay at this hotel outstanding, was the staff. To a person I was greeted every time with a huge smile and an offer to help in any way they could. After just 2 days, I did not need to order my standard morning tea - it just arrived to my table shortly after I did. The first morning I was there, I asked where I could purchase a SIM card for my phone and one of the staff (Roland) escorted me to the store around the corner and gave me a lesson on how to stay safe walking on the streets in Cape Town. (Number one tip: don't walk alone at night!) It was a difficult and scary time to be in Cape Town. The COVID-19 virus was gaining speed around the world and although there were no cases in South Africa when I arrived, there were many by the time I left. My husband and I had to cancel our next leg of our trip to Tanzania for our Safari but the Townhouse allowed us to stay an extra 3 nights at the Conference rate until our flights back to Canada were booked. We very much appreciated this. I would not hesitate to stay at the Townhouse again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you to their staff for such attention to detail and for taking such good care of us.

The hotel's location is perfect for walking the streets of the city, being close to the Company's Garden, the National Gallery, Planetarium, The Fort, and the main city streets like Adderley and Strand St. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the restaurant meals are excellent (and there are nearby choices too) and the staff are helpful and knowledgable.

It is a lovely quaint hitel, tucked away in the inner CBD. Situated very near Caoe Town Parliament, it is convenient for govermement officials and anybody wanting accomodation that is at close proximity to government buildings. The ambience in the dining area is very appealing. It has that home away from home vibe. It has a book case/ cabinet lining the one wall that gives you the feeling you are sitting at a library, or comfortably at home. Service at dinner was EXTREMELY slow. I understand it was because the restaurant had 2 big dinner bookings. If you have dollops of patience, then you would not mind the slow dinner time service, But my arguments is ALL patrons, should be treated equally. Patrons should not be ignored for 30 minutes, because they are short staffed! Why not hire MORE waitstaff, when you have large group bookings.COMMON SENCE...no? The dinner meal was 'okay'. I order a steak medium to well done. It was well done! Breakfast was very lovely. I had poached eggs, with teat of my hot breakfast. Was good. The fruit selection was poor... not much of a variety. Overall, the room was pretty spacious, decent, & clean. Wifi was excellent. If you on a tight budget, not toooo fussy, the TownHouse, is a lovely choice.
