The St John’s is not a good place for anyone who is allergic to dogs or simply doesn’t like them. This hotel is specifically dog-obsessed and most of the clientele is pushing dogs around in prams. The rooms are fairly large and most come with balconies. The rooftop pool is open all year round with the roof half-closed in wintertime but the warm water still makes it super enjoyable. The hotel is huge with 16 floors and several towers so especially the breakfast room can get extremely busy. However the gym was never too crowded even though it is not too big for a hotel this size. The location right on the beach is wonderful and there are great cafes and restaurants in the hotel and also around it. The hotel’s own bakery has a briquette shaped chocolate bread which is definitely worth the try.

I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a leisurely stay. However, if you are into adventure similar to escape room/monopoly don’t pass go vibe..this might be your place. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a leisurely stay. However, if you are into adventure similar to escape room/monopoly don’t pass go vibe..this might be your place. Trying to do or just navigate your way WITHIN the hotel is very complicated. There’s two (?) towers, numerous amounts of elevators, but not every elevator goes to every side of the building that you may need to access. And there’s no sign indicating where they exactly go… You just find out when you get to the destination and see that it’s not where you need to be. Pools… There are two pools one on the 6th floor, which is family friendly, and another on the 16th floor which is their infinity pool. The infinity pool cost additional fee to use, which is standard. But there’s an additional fee to use it at night time between 8 PM and 10 PM. The family pool on the sixth floor has no additional fee, but you need to go to the fourth floor prior to entrance to get a access band, come back up to the 6th floor and then you can swim. Additionally, if you want to “lounge” at the pool, you need to be in a bathrobe, you cannot be in…let’s say shorts and a shirt. Fitness Center… Same thing, it is located on the first floor of the bldg, but you need to go up to the fourth floor prior to entrance get access and then go back down to the first floor to do your workout. And this is daily for each location. We did not try to access any of the other areas, because at this point, we were exhausted from all the walking, and we’re only able to do about 10 minutes swimming before it closed. Positive things, location is great, rooms are pretty good, especially the corner room where we stayed, many restaurants and coffee shops close by and super pet friendly.
