I had an excellent stay at this hotel in central Seoul; while Myeongdong itself is not for everybody, it is extremely convenient for getting around. All the food, shopping, and services you can possibly wish for are practically at your doorstep. The hotel itself is modern, luxurious, very comfortable and the staff offered me excellent hospitality and service as a Marriott member. Their helpfulness really elevated the stay for me and despite having stayed at a number of luxury hotels in this part of the world this one stands out in my mind as one of the best experiences overall. I will have to caution against pre-paying for breakfast - not because it's bad in any sense, but because you have so many better options within easy walking distance of the hotel.

We enjoyed this hotel very much, even though we found the Myeongdong area around it to be over-crowded and too hectic. The staff were all very kind and helpful throughout our week long stay. The "Breezy Suite" was a spacious and comfortable room with lots of nice space. It was clean, modern, and very aesthetically pleasing in decor. The views were great. The bathroom was really well designed with lots of amenities, and we enjoyed the large walk-in closet. The breakfast offered every morning was very good, with lots of different choices, and helpful service. We enjoyed the small perks such as evening popcorn and welcome drinks too. All in all this was a pleasant place to stay and great to come back to after a long day of sight-seeing.

The Aloft Myeongdong Seoul was located in the heart of the Myeongdong where there is lots of street food and shopping -- and it's not too far from subways and within a mile or so of some of the museums, palaces and gates that are so charming in Seoul. It's a good first place to stay in Korea, and not far from Seoul Station (where the A'rex airport express train comes in from Incheon airport). The room was nice and well appointed, and a good value for the quality. The hotel has a good (though not inexpensive) breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly, and most of them spoke good English. It is associated with Marriott, so you get reward points with Marriott Bonvoy (if that matters to you). They do provide standard services (such as free luggage storage for the time after you check out but before you head to the airport. It's not fancy, but it's modern and clean and all that you need, and the rooms are spacious enough to not feel cramped. The Wi-Fi was good enough for streaming movies, though it wasn't super fast (not needed for most things, but if you're on a work trip with Zoom calls, this might be a consideration). I'm not one for high-end pampering, so I'm glad not to pay for all those services I don't use -- your mileage may vary. This isn't a place I'd count on a massage or room service or an in-hotel late night meal. But if all you need is a clean and solid well appointed room, without a lot of extra services, I recommend this hotel.

It was my first time staying at Aloft Myeongdong and the main reason was due to its location. Just right in Myeongdong and it was convenient to walk to both shopping street and train station. It was slightly expensive for the size of room offered. I stayed for 7 nights and utilised the washer/dryer service, it was easy and fuss free. Love it that the hotel provides water filter dispenser in the room, and the various temperature water dispenser along the corridor. Service from the staff is superb and they all know their stuff well. There was no issue communicating with them at all. The only thing that I'm disappointed in was the variety of food offered during buffet breakfast. It was the same main food everyday, with only changes to few side dishes, it does not interest me and I skipped for 2 days. The restaurant can do this better. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Aloft Myeongdong and will consider to book here again but will not be opting in for the buffet breakfast.
