This was my first experience in Seoul, indeed in South Korea and Le Meridien is an excellent choice for both location and comfort. As I am sure most of you know, Incheon airport is a long way outside Seoul and will take around 45 minutes to drive - maybe more if the traffic is bad. The hotel arranged a very nice car to pick us up since we were arriving from a long trans-pacific from Minneapolis. We appreciated how efficient both the pick up in particular, and the airport in general turned out to be. If, as we did, you arrive by car/taxi, you will be dropped in a basement-like area which necessitates heading up a couple of floors, by elevator, to reception to check in. It works very well and for those of us who sadly don't speak Korean, the helpful staff at the desk speak excellent english. We are elite Bonvoy members which always helps at Marriott properties (and secures you access to free ice cream at reception here!) and gives you a higher floor for your room and also access to the lounge which is a very worthwhile perk. We took breakfast there and it has good views over Seoul. The rooms themselves are clean, very modern in design and thoughtfully put together. The beds in Marriotts are universally excellent in my experience and here is no exception. Large beds, firmish mattress and crisp extremely comfortable linens. As we found throughout our travels in Asia, ensuite bathrooms at this level of hotel have not only a large walk in shower but also a soaking tub which is something I greatly enjoy and hugely miss in my travels within the US where a bathtub is generally absent from hotel rooms - unless you count the pathetic shower over shallow tub that seemed to be de rigeur in the 70s and 80s and persists in many places to this day. This is to be highly commended. We were only here for two nights and so were unable to sample the other facililies such as the gym and the swimming pool but being a full service hotel these looked very nice too. The location is great. We went on a walking tour from the hotel our only full day here and were able to walk out from the lobby to some of the main attractions in Seoul which makes it an excellent choice especially if you are only here for a short time. Our trip was essentially a 48 hour layover before heading over to China. Would definitely stay here again.

“Nice hotel in a very busy tourist area”

We are a family of 4 and we booked 2 rooms to stay in Le Meridien Myeongdong for 8 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located in an area where shopping malls, shops , food stalls, restaurants etc are all around the hotel. If you like shopping and food that’s the place to be in. We are a family of 4 and we booked 2 rooms to stay in Le Meridien Myeongdong for 8 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located in an area where shopping malls, shops , food stalls, restaurants etc are all around the hotel. If you like shopping and food that’s the place to be in. Subway stations are also extremely close by. My 2 teenager children love the close proximity to shops while myself and my husband found the area a bit overwhelming as this is an extremely busy area. The hotel entrance is not the easiest to find as it was sort of hidden underground. On the day of our arrival we took 2 taxis ( because we have 4 luggages among the 4 of us) and neither of the taxi drivers knew where the entrance of the hotel is, and ends up we were being kicked out of both taxis on a street nearby . It was not easy to navigate with 4 big luggages amongst lots of people in the area ( Myeongdong is a very busy area) while trying to look for the entrance of the hotel. Because Le Meridien in Myeongdong is one of the more expensive hotels in the area , I was expecting a hotel with big / prominent entrance or lobby area, which was actually not the case. Le Meridien also shares the same building / same entrance as another hotel called Moxy hotel , which was quite a bit cheaper then Le Meridien Myeongdong. The Moxy hotel seems to have a younger vibe - feels like it targets younger people. The rooms we booked are Deluxe Guest Room - King , City view . The room size are reasonable , with enough space for 2 persons to move around. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The package we booked came with breakfast every morning. The food choices were not bad but they were pretty standard kind of food you would expect from hotel chains. The staff were friendly and helpful - we were trying to look for a place for Christmas family dinner and because it was already the day before Christmas , we had difficulty finding anywhere we can book . The gentleman at the concierge helped to call the restaurants around the hotel while we went out and he managed to secure a table for us. Overall this was a nice and convenient hotel to in stay and our experience was good.

Perfectly located in the heart of Myeongdong, this hotel offers everything you could ask for when visiting Seoul. The service is warm, professional, and consistently attentive, while the rooms are comfortable, elegant, and equipped with every modern convenience. Step outside and you'll find yourself in one of Seoul's liveliest neighborhoods, surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafés, and some of the city's best street food—day and night. If you're visiting Seoul, it's hard to imagine a better place to stay. Highly recommended.
