Great Stay at Mercure Magok Seoul – Spacious, Clean & Well-Equipped I recently stayed at the Mercure Ambassador Seoul Magok and overall had a very positive experience. The location is a little far from the airport—we took a taxi which took around 45–50 minutes and cost approximately £35. It’s something to keep in mind, especially if you’re travelling with children or after a long flight. On arrival, the concierge team were incredibly helpful and kind, making check-in smooth and welcoming. We had originally booked a deluxe king room but ended up upgrading to a suite due to the room size. The suite was definitely worth it—spacious, very clean, and equipped with great facilities. The technology, especially the toilet features, was a highlight. Housekeeping was excellent, with rooms cleaned thoroughly every day. A big plus is the convenience downstairs—there are shops in the basement where you can easily pick up essentials. Breakfast was lovely overall. However, a few improvements would make it even better: adding more vegetarian options (such as vegetarian sausages & baked beans), clearer labelling of ingredients, and a bit more variety to cater to different dietary needs. One thing to note is that room service is not available after 10pm, as it closes—so if you’re arriving late or prefer dining in your room, it’s worth planning ahead. The surrounding area is very convenient. There’s an Olive Young nearby, a laundrette about a 10-minute walk away, and parks just 5 minutes from the hotel. The train station is also around a 5-minute walk, making it easy to get around. That said, most main attractions are about 30–40 minutes away and usually require changing trains. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. However, if travelling with children, I would probably consider staying closer to more central, easily accessible areas to reduce travel time.
