Location The hotel is located within walking distance of the Mokpo train station as long as you don't have big heavy bags to carry. The local cabs don't seem to know the location of this hotel very well as it is relatively new and the name Modavi is a strange word to Koreans - or so it would seem. It is located next to the F1 ('F' ONE) hotel. It's about equally as far away from the Ferry station or about .6 KM. It was a good brisk walk down to the ferrry from the hotel but without heavy bags, it's very doable. Taxis frequently drive through the area and are no problem to catch, plus it's just off a primary street where you'll find many different taxis. There is a small open market a few blocks to the south of the hotel and there is a nice shopping district a few blocks to the north of the hotel - definitely walking distance. Restaurants abound in the area around the hotel but serve mostly Korean food if that's not your thing. As far as the location to other interests, we really didn't do anything but come down to take the Ferry to Jeju so I can't speak to the other activities. I hear there is a tour bus that you can take to see other things. Room Keep in mind that this location offers several different featured rooms. Ours was the VIP room and had specific features. The other rooms might feature different options. Pros - The room that we got was quite large. It features 2 working computers with there own internet connection. The computers are at a work station and are connected to the large television in the room. - The room has 2 beds that can be pushed together to make one large bed that fit our family of 4 just fine (see comment on beds in the Cons section) - The AC in our room was hard to figure out (it's on the television remote) but it worked great and got our room down to 18 degrees. - The hotel has 2 elevators and both worked every time we needed them. - The front staff was always at the front desk and although they don't speak much English, they are very patient and easy to work with - There is a "service" area next to the front desk that has free water, juice, popcorn, toast and coffee - The wash-my-butt toilet was a nice feature, although it took a bit to figure out how to get it working and flushing. - Smell - so this might not mean much to some people, but this hotel did not smell and that alone is worth a mint to us. The room smelled clean and fresh and not like a stale cigarette. Kudos to the staff for keeping things so clean and fresh. - Breakfast was on par with most mid-range hotels we've stayed in. It included a few odd items like hotdogs and French fries, but it also included some of the staples: cereal, juice, toast, eggs and soup. For a free breakfast it certainly met the grade and served its purpose. Cons - Every outlet in our room was occupied which made it tough to find a spot to plug in my cell phone charger but I figured it out. - The beds were extra firm; think sleeping on the floor but 18 inches off the floor. I like a firm mattress so it wasn't a deal breaker for me but might be if you are the plush soft type. - The bathroom was very modern but not exceptionally private. The walls are made of glass and have gaps between them. Even the wall on the shower was disfigured glass that gives a distorted view of the person showering. Distorted but still viewable. - The jet tub is located in the common sleeping area and would be great for a couple using the room, but for a family it meant that we were wearing our swimsuits to be able to use the tub. The tub worked great and was fun for us as we overflowed it with bubbles. Value Overall, I felt that the hotel was a great value. We booked through Expedia and got hit with some taxes that aren't usually included when you book directly with the front desk. We liked the hotel so much that we decided to stay an extra day in Mokpo at the hotel. They even knocked off some of the cost for us since we were staying an extra day. If you're accustomed to 5 star accommodations, this place isn't that. If you are afraid of getting a hotel that you'll be happier to leave than to check into, then worry not, the Hotel Mondavi is a nice place to stay.

“Clean, Tidy & convenient location to explore Mokpo & surrounding islands”

Stayed 2 night in April 2019. The hotel is with in walking disctance from the railway station as well as the ferry terminal to various islands(10 min?). In the vicinity are various Korean seafood restaurants, seafood market and some tourist visits all reasonable walking distances, and there is a bus station near by. We visited the National Maritime Museum short taxi ride away and there is a fantastic permanent display of salvaged ship(s) and artifacts which gives insight of past history and seafaring cultural history of Korea/China/Japan from some 700 + years ago. There are other museums close-by but as we were late in arriving those were closed. Breakfast: Included but very limited by western or Korean Standards, Some eggs, bread, juice, cornflakes, some cut fruits, some cold meat & soup. Internet: Free & fast

“Nice, clean, large rooms ”

Nice hotel in a living area. Clean comfortable and large rooms. Reception does not speak English very well. And breakfast is poor. But overall we think this is a nice hotel to stay in. Easy to find with google Maps
