I stayed in the (Goodstay) Brown Hotel in early November for one night. The location is very convenient. You can see the hotel from the intercity bus terminal. To get to the train station, it is a bit of a walk but a straight-forward route. When I checked-in, I rang the reception bell and a lady came from the next room. She was there taking care of hair child, so sort of overwhelmed and not very concentrated. I didn't need much guidance though. In the room, I had everything I needed. It is officially a business and tourist hotel but in my opinion more the latter (also similar to the love motels I stayed in). The decor is reddish. What bothered me a bit is that you cannot have proper light even if turn on all the possible lamps. This is why I'd say it's less a business hotel because you cannot read anything with that light. Unfortunately, one of the lamps started blinking during the night and I couldn't turn it off. I didn't bother to get help from the reception. Despite these negative points, I was satisfied with my stay. It is good value for money and location was the most important thing for me.

“A simple hotel suitable for one night”

We stayed one night so we could visit naganeupseong folk village. A taxi from the station costs ₩2,500 and its a short walk to the bus station. We stayed one night so we could visit naganeupseong folk village. A taxi from the station costs ₩2,500 and its a short walk to the bus station. Rooms were basic and had aircon as well as a fan, so stayed nice and cool and wifi worked well. There also looks to be basic breafast in the foyer with toast and coffee, but we did not try this. There is also not a big variety in restaurants around this area, but there is a supermarket opposite the station for supplies. The older lady at the hotel does not speak any English, but the younger couple are very friendly and helpful.

“Easy to find from bus terminal”

Brown Hotel is not too bad for the price. We had some trouble with it being way too hot in the room, and many nights of mosquitoes (coming from the drain? 6F). Brown Hotel is not too bad for the price. We had some trouble with it being way too hot in the room, and many nights of mosquitoes (coming from the drain? 6F). We had been staying in guest houses for most of our trip which are super nice because of the communication and advice from guesthouse hosts and other travelers - we did not get this here so it was more difficult to explore the area in some cases. However, the folks at the front desk were always nice and there's a coffee/water machine there, too. Wifi was good.

This hotel is located downan alley, off themain street, about 3 blocks from the inter-city bus station. We arrived via bus just before noon, and were allowed to drop off our bags in our room, but they insisted on keeping the room key until the official checkin time(2pm). When we returned several hours later to officially checkin, there was noone staffing the front desk, and we ended up reaching over the counter the grab our room key. Later that evening when we left & returned from dinner there was also no one at the front desk. Ourroom was ok overall, although a bit rough around the edges. AC worked ok. Wifi was kinda spotty, disconnedting several times. They did provide drinking bottled water in the room atno extra charge. Warning, if you book the (much less expensive) ondol room, you will effectively be sleeping on the hard floor.
