“Great hotel with friendly staff!”

Second time here and the stay was even better than the first time. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean hotel with fresh rooms. Great location near centre and the ocean. Only thing that they could improve is the breakfast which is only Korean style. Intercontinal would also be nice.

The hotel is well located with bus stops close by, train station a good 15mins walk (with luggage, yup, we walked as the weather was good), restaurants within the hotel and nearby buildings, 24-hrs convenience store, plus other tourists sites not too far away. The rates are good when we visited in late November 2014 and with all the conveniences nearby, we had a great stay. There were many locals stating in the hotel during our visit. What we, especially our 10 yr-old boy, enjoyed the best of the hotel? Their Korean breakfast. It was our 2nd trip to Korea in 4 years and we had finally found a hotel with local Korean Breakfast of rice, soup, seaweed, eggs, vegetables. We are still talking about it when we watch Korean shows on TV. The city centre is about 10mins drive by taxi from the hotel and you can find western food and other good buys, too, from their markets and shopping areas. It is good recommendation for travellers who are not looking for the typical western -style hotel. We had no problem with communication as the reception staff do speak good, simple, understandable English. If you are travelling in groups of 3-4, best to take a taxi to go around as it is more comfortable and economical.

The location gets 4 of 5 stars but the hotel itself 2 of 5. Pros: *The location is good, with The Expo site (with the Aqua Planet Aquarium, the Big O show and the Yeosu-Expo train station), Ondongdo island and the hill/cliff/park with the Maritime Cable Car all within 5-15 min walking distance and the fish market and the downtown area a short taxi ride away. *Decent views of the Expo site and the Sea from most rooms. *The room had a free automatic hot/cold water dispenser. *Our room had its own Wireless router so the internet connection was really good Cons: *The room we booked supposedly had space for three adults and one child, but it had only one queen-sized bed, so make sure you book a room with enough beds for your needs. *Very, very hard beds by Western standards *Few breakfast options in the vicinity of the hotel *No shower curtain in our room and no bathroom floor towel *No automatic climate control in the rooms - we had to switch on and off the AC unit manually all the time or keep the window open. *Noisy highway passes right besides the hotel (prevents you from keeping the window open if you are sensitive to noise) *Unpleasant and annoying lighting in the room. For example, a bright daylight lamp was switched on by a motion detector whenever anyone went to the bathroom during the night. *Very limited English-speaking capabilities among the hotel staff *Several pieces of the supposedly fancy room interior had seen its better days. The wash basin had a big crack in it and some cupboards were very squeeky and hard to close. *The water in the shower changed temperature to very hot without warning

This hotel is in a good location. We walked from the hotel to Odong Island and the park with the cable cars. The hotel has a small parking garage so parking there is not guaranteed. As others have said, the room was incredibly hot and street noise made it impossible to keep the window open all night. The temperature became uncomfortable. On the positive side, our room on the 7th floor had a great view of the sea. The bed was as hard as the floor but that is the same in most Korean hotels. There was an extensive selection of channels on the TV, a couple of them in English like CNN, and a couple of movie channels showing American movies. There was a hot and cold water dispenser and a refrigerator in the room. This was definitely not the worst hotel I have stayed in in Korea. It would have been quite acceptable if not for the uncomfortable level of heat in the room and no way to change it.

Booked here because MVL was full. Easy to book through Agoda, helpful front desk staff but poor English. VERY hard bed with springs at surface; staff said all beds the same so no point changing room. Booked here because MVL was full. Easy to book through Agoda, helpful front desk staff but poor English. VERY hard bed with springs at surface; staff said all beds the same so no point changing room. Ended up using 6 duvets as padding, then bought a memory foam topper on top of 3 duvets, which made it comfortable for me. Drain fell off washbasin. Shower temperature unstable, varied from cold to very hot every 30 seconds. Breakfast available 7.30 to 9.30, never got to try it because of work schedule. Room very warm, bearable if AC on full. Reasonably quiet. If MVL is available, go there for the extra $20 / night.
