Great hotel in a brilliant location and Alicante is really lovely! Something for everyone and an abundance of gorgeous bars & restaurants right on your doorstep. The road down to the harbour has alleyways all the way down full of tapas restaurants. The hotel is opposite the food market with a lovely square the other side for a drink & a snack. We had a suite which had a coffee pod machine (awful coffee) but apparently the other rooms don’t have any - you can ask downstairs but they charge (take your own!)

“Great Hotel”

Great hotel with alright breakfast and amazing rooms. But this hotel has no pool and is just out of the city. But is only a twenty minute walk to the beach. It is also a twenty minute walk to the Hercules football stadium which is great to watch. I would recommend going out to get breakfast.

We choose Eurostars Lucentum due to the ideal City Centre location for our first visit to Alicante. This 4-star hotel is a short distance from ALC airport. Tourist attractions such as Santa Bárbara Castle, Postiguet beach and Port of Alicante are all within walking distance. Alicante Central Market is across the street, while the tram station and numerous restaurants and shops are nearby. As this hotel’s main entrance consists of steps, a separate accessible entrance is provided. When the notification bell is pressed at this entrance, reception staff will open doors allowing access to the elevator, which leads to the reception area. This elevator is large enough for a 4-wheeled mobility scooter. My rental mobility scooter was charged in the hotel lobby. Staff kindly stored my wheelchair in the luggage store room while we were out for the day, allowing for an easy wheelchair transfer on our return. Limited traffic noise was heard as accessible rooms are located on floors 7, 8 and 9. One of two elevators go to level -1 for breakfast, which can lead to quite a long wait during peak times. The accessible room features a wooden floor, twin beds, fridge, blackout curtains, a safe and reachable wardrobe railing. Unfortunately, inadequate space between end of beds and desk resulted in limited access to windows, curtains, fridge, wall sockets and telephone. This could easily be solved with a narrower depth desk. Wall sockets are required over both bedside lockers. The spacious accessible bathroom consists of a wheel-in shower with removeable shower head; mirrors at a correct height, grab rails, hairdryer and reachable soap dispenser. Regrettably, the deep sink surround prevents a wheelchair user from wheeling under it. The wheel-in shower was disappointing as the shower seat had no back or arm support; shower toiletries were out of reach from the shower seat. Shower controls are located directly above the shower seat making them difficult to use, and no shower curtain is provided to protect a wheelchair from getting wet. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning; staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Prior to booking I emailed reservations in regards to accessible room photos and availability, as unfortunately this information was not available on their website. Reservations were quick to respond, however it would save a lot of time if their accessible rooms were available to view and book online.

“Lovely stay”

Excellent hotel, its location for visiting Alicante is ideal, the bus from the airport stops across the road, the tram station is just across the road and for walking ,10 minutes will get you most places. Excellent hotel, its location for visiting Alicante is ideal, the bus from the airport stops across the road, the tram station is just across the road and for walking ,10 minutes will get you most places. Rooms are a quite a reasonable size , very clean and housekeeping is regular. The food choice at breakfast was varied with options for everyone without the normal cluttered breakfast area. We stayed on the 10th floor and if I was been really fussy, the wait for the lift at busy times was longer then expected but worth it for the lovely view over Alicante, the Castle and the sea. The reception staff are very helpful offering maps and tips as required.
