This place is clean easy to get to does the job for overnight stay if you are in the area on business like we were , the room was warm unlike one of the reviews I read below , breakfast in the restaurant next door is poor and that place was cold this time of year was warmer sitting outside . Value for money good you pay what you get for wouldn't use this for a family holiday but does the job if you on business .

The foyer looked promising as we checked in and was nicely air conditioned. However they hadn't received the instructions that we had confirmed in our booking.com email confirmation about needing a baby cot and said they had none left. We found this unlikely as we has booked the day the wedding we were there for was announced, and nobody really visits Lucena otherwise in numbers big enough to fill a whole hotel, and there were only two other occupied rooms that night. We were insistent and showed our email, and the actually very helpful receptionist scurried off and brought one. It was tiny, and our son's head and feet touched the ends, so we asked for another one and they found a normal sized one. God knows what the other people did with theirs- maybe folded their child up into it. The mattress announced and pillow were memory foam, and it was one enormous pillow for both of us which was not ideal. They couldnt be bothered finishing cleaning our room, it seemed. They left our 'yes please clean the room' sign on the door after they made the bed and gave us clean, thin small towels, but didn't tidy the room, or empty the overflowing bun which contained things like pooey nappies. I reported it to reception and he came and took the excess rubbish, but only after he had gone did I realise he hadn't actually emptied the bin. I put the binbag outside our room for them and continued using the bin without a binbag. Luckily for them no more pooey nappies were made. The helpful receptionist organised some taxis for us for that night, which operated not on Spanish time, but actual time, and were on time. The air con went off about 10.30am on the second morning, which was not great for my husband who had arrived back from a wedding at 6am and desperately needed more sleep in a cool room. Apparently it has gone off in all the rooms, and after we complained and went to the pool for a bit it was sorted out. Breakfast was a piece of toasted bread with butter and jam, freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee, but we hadn't managed our expectations very well here after coming from another properly four star hotel in Malaga where there was a huge choice of breakfast items. Lunch in the restaurant attached to the hotel was very good. The pool was very clean with a few sunloungers and a table and chairs.

“Freezing cold room”

This hotel seemed to be very old so you can't really compare it to current modern 4 star hotels.... It is not a bad hotel though. Reception is welcoming and the rooms are clean. This hotel seemed to be very old so you can't really compare it to current modern 4 star hotels.... It is not a bad hotel though. Reception is welcoming and the rooms are clean. The rooms were a bit old fashioned but this was in keeping with the theme of the hotel. We stayed here for 1 night in February 2012 with a group of friends/couples and the room was freezing cold. They need to invest in proper ac/heating. We had to put the extra quilt on the floor to walk around on it as the tiles were so cold and not much heat seemed to come out from the vents. Bathroom could do with an update. Our shower head would fall out of the holder. It is not a bad hotel, especially if you are just staying the night. Take slippers though and a warm dressing gown if you are staying in winter. The room only cost €50 so can't really complain. They let us check out late as well.
