A luxurious classic-style hotel, by the sea, with its own beach sector, a large swimming pool and a 10-minute walk from Malaga's old town - there is no alternative that meets the same conditions. The entire complex has been completely renovated relatively recently and everything is still in good condition. The interior of the rooms is not in the classic grand style, as one might expect from the exterior design of the building, but is either Arabic, Mediterranean or cozy classical style, depending on the room. Since the agent made a mistake when booking the room, we got a lower category room, but this room was also pleasant. Even the smallest room is of sufficient size. The Premier Atrium room has windows overlooking the courtyard and there is no view, but these rooms are quiet, because the street noise is heard in the rooms on the street side. I liked that the toilet is separate and has a door, but I didn't like that the toilet door opened inward and when leaving, you had to squeeze yourself into a corner to open the door. The air conditioner worked quietly, but I didn't like that the air conditioner blew onto the bed. We turned off the air conditioning for the night and luckily it wasn't too hot. High-quality care products, but many products have to be requested separately. Very high-quality shaving kit, which has to be requested extra. Considering the level of the hotel, the breakfast selection is not very rich, but everything that was offered was very high quality and tasty and the waiters are also very efficient. We only found out about the possibility of ordering something other than an omelette for breakfast when we left the last breakfast when we saw that the waiter brought Egg Benedict and other dishes made to order to the neighbouring table. We could have been informed about such an option. The hotel has a high-class restaurant and a rooftop bar with a nice view, where there is live music in the evenings. The pool was a good size and also suitable for a proper swim. The sun loungers are very close together, but thanks to this there are enough of them. Behind the pool fence is a road with busy traffic and at times the street noise is quite loud. The pool boy is top notch in his field, very efficient and good at communicating. We visited several much more luxurious hotels on this trip, where there were several people working at the pool, but here one pool boy was much more efficient than the entire team in other hotels. The beach has its own sector with high-quality beach chairs and towels and also a very good service, but I didn't really like the beach itself - it is a public city beach, where there were a lot of people (many young people), the sand was muddy and stained clothes and the water in the sea was murky. NB! The hotel's beach area is not directly in front of the hotel, but to the left of the hotel. There are two beach bars on the beach, one right in front of the hotel and the other (cheaper and simpler) to the left. The service of the hotel staff was very good, it feels like they have been trained thoroughly. Also, all the staff spoke good enough English, even the cleaners - in other regions of Spain, there are often problems with English language skills, including in hotels. Parking is relatively expensive, but the parking lot is underground and valet parking is available. Considering the location of the hotel and the general price level of the Cost del Sol, the price is relatively reasonable. The hotel organizes events very often and some of them can also disturb the guests staying at the hotel. There were events every night during our stay, but fortunately they were not noisy events and did not last long, they did not bother us.

Our stay at the Gran Hotel Miramar in Málaga was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every aspect of our experience exceeded our expectations. We chose the hotel to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary as we got married just up the rd. The entire team made it feel truly special. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture, luxurious rooms, immaculate facilities, and an unbeatable location overlooking the sea. Every member of staff was warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay unforgettable. A very special thank you goes to Candela from Guest Relations. From a email sent in on booking on arrival it was clear that she genuinely cared about making our anniversary celebration as special as possible. She went above and beyond to ensuring every detail was taken care of. Thanks to her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile, our celebration was even more memorable than we could have imagined. Candela is a true asset to the hotel, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she did for us. The food, service, housekeeping, and overall atmosphere were faultless. It's rare to find a hotel where every single member of the team consistently delivers such a high standard of hospitality. Thank you to everyone at the Gran Hotel Miramar for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. The pool is not as big as you see in photos! but clean and useable. There was many bicycles in front hotel and there isnt any sign to use or not to use it and l ride one of them just for one minute suddenly someone from hotel very rude came to me i told him im the guest of hotel but he was wery angry and with his finger showed me dont ride. Ok i didnt expected for 5 star hotel also i told this to front desk and i hadnt any notice from them! This hotel is good for those that they want very cool atmosphere but please dont touch anything!!

Gran Hotel Miramar makes a strong first impression with its elegant park-like entrance, impressive historic building and a genuinely grand arrival experience. However, while the hotel looks and feels like a luxury property in its public spaces, the overall guest experience becomes more inconsistent once you move beyond the lobby. Arrival & check-in The arrival through the landscaped gardens is beautiful and immediately creates a sense of grandeur. Guests are welcomed in a friendly manner with a choice of cava or water and the entrance hall delivers a real “wow” effect. Unfortunately, the check-in process itself is slow despite the friendly staff. The room was not ready shortly before official check-in time and the handover of keys in a rather cheap-looking envelope did not match the expectations of a five-star luxury hotel. Room The room was the weakest part of the stay. It felt dated and underwhelming with a very small window and a large wall dominating the view, leaving no real outlook except neighbouring buildings. The furniture is clearly in need of renovation and does not reflect a modern luxury standard. The bathroom was functional but also felt outdated. Overall, the room is relatively small and while the bed was acceptable, it was not particularly comfortable or memorable. Facilities The gym is in decent condition but somewhat inconvenient to access. Equipment is adequate but not high-end. The spa is available but not included in the stay, which feels surprising for a hotel of this category. The pool area is visually attractive but extremely busy. A notable downside is the towel policy, where only one towel is issued per guest and a card must be exchanged, which feels out of place for a luxury hotel. The Concierge also wasn't noteworthy. Asking for advice, he simply tried to sell tourguides instead of giving advice where to go by ourselves. Restaurant Although the restaurant reservation initially did not work (also Concierge...), a table was still provided and the experience turned out to be a highlight. The food was excellent and the service very friendly and attentive. In fact, the restaurant experience was significantly stronger than the overall hotel impression and is something I would gladly return for. Breakfast Breakfast offers a large selection, but the atmosphere and quality do not match a luxury standard. The dining room feels more like a busy three-star hotel, with limited charm and a high level of noise and occupancy. Service is slow at times and finding a free table can be difficult. The coffee quality was also only average. Overall Gran Hotel Miramar is officially rated as a five-star hotel and certainly has the architecture and public spaces to support that classification. However, in my view it does not fully deserve a true luxury (GL) distinction. While the building and arrival experience are impressive, the room quality, breakfast experience and several operational details fall short. The “wow” factor that one would expect from a grand luxury hotel unfortunately does not continue beyond the lobby.
