The hotel is small and simple but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is impeccably clean. Hats off to the housekeeper. Laura at the front desk was wonderful and gave us a lot of information of where to go and what to see. There is a very nice community sitting room where you can relax. After spending two nights in a spa we headed from the Picos down to Gijon. We parked in the first underground parking we found (Mutua Parking, I think) on the sea front. Then we just walked back a street and saw this hotel. We asked for prices and got a simple double room for 40 euros a night (the cheapest rate). The rooms are simple, but clean and have everything you need for a short break. All the staff were helpful, friendly and polite. The hotel's location is ideal for exploring the city on foot. It is near to all the restaurants and bars, the shops are scattered throughout neighbouring streets. The railway museum is at the end of the road and is well worth a visit on a rainy afternoon. El Corte Inglés is about 30 minutes walk away, but there is a bus if you don't feel like walking. The hotel doesn't do breakfasts, but there are 2 cafes , one to the right of the hotel as you look at it, the other across the street under the arcade. It is primarily a bakery, I think it is called La Cortina and they do a big range of breakfast sandwiches and tostadas. It absolutely poured down for our entire stay, but there is still plenty to see and do. The architecture is varied and beautiful and there are many squares. The Asturian people are naturally very friendly and are quick to make a joke or to offer help. We had some wonderful food during our stay here, of course you pay city prices, but nothing extortionate. I would love to go again in the summer to get a different impression and would recommend the city and this hotel to all young couples who want a fun break in the centre of it all!

Ok so the day glo orange walls and dated furniture were a little harsh on the eye but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay for one or two nights, it's fine. The staff were really helpful, the free internet was fast and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is great for the beach and a 5 minute walk into the town and a15 minute walk into the old town. On the day we checked out there was no hot water but it was being repaired and didn't cause us too much inconvenience. Street parking on the nearby streets was metered and cheap for 24 hours. Overall a decent enough place to stop over.
