We stayed one night at this hotel on the Camino de Santiago. We were welcomed very nicely by the receptionist who helped us complete all the necessary paperwork and we went online to register for some form of police registration. The room was clean and well appointed. The shower was okay. We had a good night sleep. Breakfast in the morning was at a nearby café and was a traditional Spanish breakfast. It was good. The hotel is based in the centre of town and is very convenient for bars and restaurants in the old town. A good stop off on the Camino de Santiago.

The first you will see when you arrive is that the reception is not on the ground floor, but on the second one (ring the bell by the street entrance). In addition to this, in February they were installing an elevator in the building, which means that the stairs were a mess and made a bad first impression. But this is actually a really good hostel, starting with the kind, friendly, helpful staff that speaks good English. In the reception customers can also get coffee, hot chocolate and hot water for free. The wifi is also free and works well. As for the rooms, they are spacious, very clean, but basic. They are equipped with A/C (and heating), a flat TV and an ensuite, modern, nice bathroom. The hostel's location is great, right in the middle of the action in the old town and very close to many tapas bars, restaurants and the main tourist attractions, while it is also a 15 minutes walk from the bus station.

When you first get to the Hostel you might think, this does not look promising! An elevator is being constructed so the entrance is in rough shape. Once you get upstairs, though, it is a very pleasant place. It has a nice big lobby with free coffee/tea and lots of room to lounge, and the rooms were surprisingly big and well-appointed. The only downside is that it is located close to the pinxtos action, which means that if you are early to bed, there will be a lot of street noise coming in from the night life. The room has blackout blinds - they let in quite a bit of light still but with an eye mask I was able to manage. The air conditioning works like a charm and the shower was fantastic.

Designated as our stopover on a tour of the north of Spainthis is a basic hostal - in a good central position for walk and near the river Ebro which runs through the town. Though some way through a renovation process with work in progress the rooms were clan and not too small for a single person. Rooms have TV and basic facilities and the shower OK though mssing the attachment for the head meant I had to hold while showering. My bed was 2 singles opushed together but made up as singles so I had to remake as they were short for me. Reception has free coffee and tea making and the staff are friendly though I was disappointed when the commitment to fix the shower was not fulfilled.
