This Pension is Loverly. I think it's a good point to note "Pension" can have less facilities than a Hostel. But this place is super. Yes you share the toilet/bathroom, but this never posed any problems for me or I believe other guests I met. The Lady Owner and her son are extremely helpful. The rooms are very well equipped and decorated. The bed is super clean and comfortable. Its true as other reviewers have noted, it is a little difficult to find at first. But it is well worth the little inconvenience. I called this a "special trip" because the Pension was special and so to is Logroño. It has plenty of landmarks, beautiful churches, famous Rioja Bodega House to visit, (Hic!) And the many many streets with door to door bars, restaurants etc. Each bar specialises in its own Tapas and wines. Im sure they must have a great deal with the Bodegas of Rioja as the cost for a glass of quality wine white/Red is very kind to the pocket.

Can be tricky to find if you don't speak Spanish. We parked the car in a nearby carpark and pressed the Pension door bell from the outside door at street level: this gave us entry to an inside door on the same level (label had pretty much worn off on this door - we guessed!). A lovely lady called Monica made great efforts to communicate with us by taking us down to the underground carpark to show us entrance/exit and where to park the car. Then up to the pension on the 4th floor where we had a small but very clean comfortable bedroom and a shared WC/shower room with another room. All doors have locks, the pension and external doors are well secured - so felt very safe! It was hot when we were there and there is no air conditioning, but a wall mounted fan did help. It is a 10 minute walk to the old town which is just beautiful and we partied with the locals for the weekend during a weekend festival. The pension is quiet and we were very pleased to retreat to this quiet space from the noisy town when sleep was needed. Logrono is a great place to visit and Pension Lauren is good value option. Having parking is good since on-street parking looked very limited.

“Decent place for a night”

It’s right off the Camino, but kind of hard to find. There’s no sign on the outside of the building and we arrived on a holiday. It’s right off the Camino, but kind of hard to find. There’s no sign on the outside of the building and we arrived on a holiday. This means not only was there no sign, but there was a gate blocking access to the inside where there is a sign. So I’ve posted a picture of what the outside entrance looks like. If the gate is locked and you’re facing it, go towards your left. When you reach a staircase by a parking garage, go up the stairs and head right. You’ll find two escalators. Walk down and then turn left. Ring the 1st button that says P...for pension. It’s kind of a puzzle. They’ll unlock the door and you’ll go up to the 2nd floor office. The building has motion censored lights but for the first few steps, it was totally dark and we had to turn on our phone lights. Hotel staff was very friendly. We were in the 4th floor. It had an a/c unit, but we couldn’t figure out how it worked. The window opens to a small, cute courtyard so it was a bit warm at night. Decent WiFi, no food options. Shared a really nice bathroom, though we saw no other guests. No one was around in the morning for checkout so we couldn’t figure out how to ask to stay a bit later. But oh well. I might stay again if I were back. It costs only $45 and I liked the neighborhood we were in.
