The location is great and the views from some of the rooms are absolutely amazing... Customer service was extremely good during my stay with nothing too much trouble and staff from reception were always very helpful and friendly at all times. I recommend this hotel. I felt very comfortable and happy during my stay here. The hotel, however, is a little outdated and the rooms could benefit from a fresh coat of paint... however, they are clean and well equipped with everything you need. If you are missing anything, you only need to request this at reception.

Stayed at the Hotel Exe Plaza while on a recent trip to Madrid and found the hotel to be well situated for both Chamartin ( 10 min walk) or downtown Madrid (20 mins on the metro) The metro station is right there so no long walk back to the hotel, aeroport is 25 mins away so quick to get there too. Checkin was pretty quick by Spanish standards and allocated a super spacious corner room on the 8th floor. The room was as you would expect from a Spanish chain hotel, the separate seating are was nice to relax in and watch down or catch up on emails. Wifi was free and easy to connect to - tip - enter your room no as 0801 not 801 when connecting otherwise you won't join. The bed was very large, comfortable and clean . More importantly the windows opened so you could have fresh air in the room !! There was a pay mini-bar but no kettle (tea, coffee). The room felt clean and safe. Great blackout blinds and sound from outside was minimal. Bathroom was fine, usual Spanish standard . Breakfast was included in the rate and served on the 1st floor. No need to prebook a time slot and it's self service, just remember to wear your mask when you are moving around & your tongs to pick up the food. it was a decent spread, lots of cakes and rolls, scrambled eggs & bacon . Nice selection of fresh fruit ( beware of the bitter red grapefruit ! ) Cheeses and cold meats too so you will not leave hungry. The staff were all helpful and friendly and it was a busy hotel ( I think it was full) so they worked very hard. Everything was cleaned and sanitized once a table was vacated so you felt you were in a safe space. There was only 2 lifts and as you cannot share sometimes there was a bit of a wait for one. There is a Taco bell and McDonalds right next store or for something more healthy there is a Rodilla around the corner. Don't let the location put you off as the metro runs late into the night and from Plaza de Castilla line 1 drops you right into the middle of Madrid to Sol in 20 mins if you are lucky with the metro or 1 stop to Chamartin if you have to catch the train.

My wife and I spent four nights at this Exe Plaza Hotel (Thursday to Monday). I must say that it is adequate for visitors that want to be close to Chamartin Station. In our case, we selected it because we wanted to do a day trip to Siguenza, and leave Madrid heading to Segovia and beyond. Our room, located on the upper floors was quiet and relatively large by European Standards. Most guests seemed to be business people, but we saw some tourists groups as well. The breakfast buffet was perhaps the best we encountered on this journey (five cities in Castille). Those plums, apples and peaches added a special delight at breakfast. The bathroom was adequate in many ways, but my wife had difficulties preventing the shower flow to spill onto the floor outside the bathtub. On the morning of the second day of our stay, we had problems using the lifts coming down from our floor. There are only two small ones for guests, and only one was working at that time. We were frustrated by the fact that after 20 minutes, we were unable to get into a lift because by the time they open in our floor they were crowded. That day we had to come down walking the stairs. As seniors we prefer not to do that. Also, we were unable to enjoy the bar/restaurant services, apparently they are not open on weekends. We also had an interesting experience. When we arrived, we found disposable tissues in the bathroom, these tissues were even covered by a decorative box (a black one). On the third day, the tissues had run out, we called the front desk and requested an additional box. The young lady taking my call, assured me that tissues had never been part of the amenities provided to the guests. On this mystery I still do not understand what happened. Is it possible that a previous guest, arrived at the room with a box of tissues and the cover?, and forgot to take it????!!!!!!!!. The price we paid was over 180 euros/night, at that price, even in these days, I would expect that some extra "amenities", like tissues, would be provided. In general the services at this hotel need to be improved in my opinion. I would like to also add two comments that even not strictly related to the hotel, could be important for anyone making a decision to stay here. The hotel is just a few steps away to the Metro Stop Plaza de Castilla. Also, there are two taxi stands just outside of it, and Chamartin station, even though close by, it could take about 15-20 min walking, and the station itself is now a "war zone" due to construction all around.

“Average and a bit tired”

It is quite centrally located, however the immediate surrounding is a bit creepy. There were always a group of youngsters hanging out but the hotel entrance smoking and lying on the pavement. It is quite centrally located, however the immediate surrounding is a bit creepy. There were always a group of youngsters hanging out but the hotel entrance smoking and lying on the pavement. The hotel is tired but OK. The gym only ope s at 9am which is hardly helpful if one is travelling on business and wants to exercise. There are much better hotels in Madrid.
