The art of an incredible hotel is one where you feel as if you’ve come home and yet you’ve had the most luxurious pampering of your life! Not easy to achieve and yet they manage it here - everything is classy and caters to your every need even those you didn’t know you had - best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel - world class offering in a wonderful setting - friendly spa with luxurious steam, sauna, hydro pool and warm beds - beautiful setting in a traditional finca style with an onsite chapel / meditation site (not consecrated) - superb pool area which is so relaxing with enough sunloungers to never worry about having to reserve one and a huge pool! There are flies here but this is common in any inland hotel in the region and I’m only mentioning it to manage expectations and still less than other places I’ve stayed at - beautiful stunning grounds with a turtle pool (yes really!), a herb garden with seats to relax in, lovely horses you can ride and pet if you don’t want to ride, electric bikes and hiking trails - lovely bar (I think this is my only thought that this area could perhaps do with a splash of colour but then that may detract from the relaxing nature of the building) a lovely touch was the complimentary cocktails - again you could choose any you wanted and not just an entry level - we particularly enjoyed the LB version of an aperol spritz with blood orange juice and are already planning to make it at home - fantastic Michelin star dining which deserves more than one star - friendly staff and Alfonso (?) the head wine waiter was excellent and knowledgable - the wine pairings were incredible with the tasting menu and changed, enriched and enhanced the flavours so that this was such a memorable part of our stay - even my husband who really struggles with fine dining experiences due to finding them overlong and stuffy enjoyed this immensely. We really hope we can one day return - it is expensive to stay here but so worth it if you want to treat yourself you will not be disappointed! “4 star with 5 star potential”

I stay at many 5* hotels globally every year personally and for work. We had a great time at Finca but it’s not at 5* standard…yet. Some examples of my reasoning below: - before arriving I didn’t have change to get a manicure but was assured that the spa does nails so I thought I would wait. When I arrived I whatsapped the spa and they told me they have no availability for a manicure for the entire week I was staying! This is not 5* service. What’s more, there was no explanation for this or apology. - my husband and I were sent on a wild goose chase when we wanted ice cream just to find out the hotel doesn’t actually have any soft scoop ice cream that you can buy during the day, just fruit lollies that are sometimes (but not always!) available at the pool - the main reason I came to this hotel was for the horses having regularly travelled for equine retreats to hotels around the world. I reached out to the hotel weeks before arriving to say I wanted to ride and asking what times were available. They said availability would be fine and riding was usually in the morning or evening to keep the horses cool. So when I enquired they only had availability at midday on the Wednesday. I asked for an early morning or evening and they said I could ride the morning of my departure - inconvenient. I pushed back and they eventually found me a slot on an early morning ride. The horses appear to be very well looked after and it’s lovely to be able to walk to the stables easily from the hotel but I think they could activate equine services more. - despite having shutters on the bedroom windows the bathroom (which did not have a door) has only a blind so the room gets bright very early - coffee at breakfast seems to be from a machine. Doesn’t taste good. It’s a shame you have to ask for tea rather than it being out for self serve. - we ordered room service food as we arrived just as the restaurants were shutting. The food was not food, burger meat was terrible quality. - dinner at El Cortijo on the last night was very basic and didn’t seem fresh (food at La Jara in constraint was amazing and top quality). I’m glad we only visited this once but as the only child friendly option I feel sorry for parents at dinner time! Positives - the housekeeping team do an amazing job - the grounds are beautiful and well kept - the stables are lovely and ass a charm to the hotel - the pool area is nice and relaxing

We recently stayed in the two-bedroom Grand Cortijo Suite. It gave our family of five plenty of space and was really comfortable throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating from start to finish, and everyone enjoyed the spacious pool area. Granada is only about an hour away, which made it easy to fit in a visit to the Alhambra during our stay. The food was great overall, though we did wish there were more family restaurant options. It wasn’t possible to get food by the pool, and only one dinner restaurant on the property allowed children. We did the special barbecue event one night, and while the food was delicious, we did feel it was overpriced. Breakfast was great and offered plenty of hot and cold options each morning. The true family highlight was horseback riding one evening. The staff did an excellent job assessing everyone’s experience level and tailoring the ride accordingly. The horses themselves were beautiful. It was a great way to see more of the property! Overall a wonderful stay, and we’d recommend it to other families looking for a mix of relaxation and activities in Andalusia.

The hotel itself was gorgeous and the staff very friendly and helpful. Their training had serious shortcomings for a hotel of 5 stars and the supporting services were inadequate. On the first night of my arrival I advised the front desk that heating did not work and that there was no wifi network in my room. I stayed two nights and to the time I left there was no change in these issues nor an explanation from the hotel. I think heating and wifi are essential in a 5-star hotel and should not even be an issue for discussion. There was an obvious failure on these points.
