“Warm, welcoming and well appointed”
We arrived wet and a bit cold after a day’s cycling. The manager was welcoming. The radiators were on, the room was large and warm. Bliss! It had an additional seating area as well as a balcony. Excellent, helpful stuff, with spacious, clean room and good breskfast and dinner. “A little remote and in a town with limited facilities”
You can pre-order dinner otherwise the hotel only does breakfast and note you are seated by room number! Secure parking for our bicycles (we were cycling around the Salzkammergut). “Basic but good location - if you have a car”
First thing to note is that the Carossa is NOT in St Gilgen or even near.. it is located in Abersee - in the countryside a few miles away from St Gilgen so you need a car to get here. The hotel looks like having had a long history. We arrived and were approached by two old persons not speaking english. They were gentle though. Rooms are very new, wide and clean.
