Stopped here overnight on our way from Stockholm to Copenhagen as we are IKEA fans and it was a good halfway point. Cute hotel in IKEA fashion. Basic amenities. Employees were very nice. Not many dinner options but breakfast was ample. You can do your laundry for free but the 4 machines are always full! I woke up at 3am to get our laundry done before we left that day. Spent some time at the IKEA museum across the street which was very nice. Easy walk to train station.

“Nice place to rest for a night”

As we toured Scandinavia, one of my friends wanted to specifically stay at this hotel for a night, just because it was Ikea. We'd been in Malmö for a couple of nights and were on our way to Stockholm and this hotel was in between the two cities, although much closer to Malmö. We took the train and the hotel is visible from the train station so it's not too far of a walk, even when pulling your luggage. I wasn't really sure what to expect but the hotel was larger than I'd realized. Since there were three of us we'd reserved a family room that has two sets of bunk beds. The upper bunks have a permanent railing to keep occupants from rolling out of the bed, as well as ladders that are fixed in place. Each bunk has a curtain that can be pulled for privacy as well as a single electrical outlet, a light, and a small shelf for glasses, books, phones, etc. The bathroom was on the small side but had a nice, wide ledge over the sink that was big enough for all three of us to store our toiletry bags on. And, hooray, the shower had a full-length door that kept all the water in the shower area. Now if only the combo shampoo/body wash product could be swapped out for separate toiletries plus a conditioner! On the ground floor there were lots of common area with various types of seating as well as a play area for small children. The next floor up has an area called The Living Room which is a communal kitchen area where guests can make their own coffee/tea or prepare their own meals. The ground floor also offers two sets of complimentary washers and dryers. Our stop here was halfway through our tour so we spent several hours in the laundry room and really just enjoying not being on our feet all day. I was amazed at the number of people who showed up at breakfast as I'd seen almost none of them in the hotel the previous day. But breakfast is a huge affair with a a massive buffet of all kinds of food. Other places to dine nearby include Grillen, just beside the hotel. It's open for lunch during the week and for dinner each night. Across the parking lot from the hotel is the Ikea Museum (you get free museum entrance if you're staying at the hotel) and they have a lunch-only restaurant which was decent. Beyond that you'll need to wander into Älmhult for food. The website only accepts reservations six months in advance, so keep that in mind when looking to book your stay. The hotel was surprisingly large, modern, and thoroughly Ikea. I'm not sure what else there is to do in the area so I don't know that I'd ever find myself in Älmhult again, but if I did, I'd be happy to stay here.

“Great place for people traveling by”

For one night when driving down south.. was a good place to stay. Sad that the museum was open only to 6pm. Could have been open 1h longer. Since when one is traveling it is very rare to arrive early. Loved the friendliness of staff everywhere. Rooms where good and comfortable. Bed was a big plus. … more

For one night when driving down south.. was a good place to stay. Sad that the museum was open only to 6pm. Could have been open 1h longer. Since when one is traveling it is very rare to arrive early. Loved the friendliness of staff everywhere. Rooms where good and comfortable. Bed was a big plus. Shower cabinet could have been a little bigger. Breakfast was great. Dinner at the grill was a disappointment. We ordered a bottle of wine. Never saw the bottle and the wine was way too cold. Appetizers were good but maincourse selections were only 2, we took the brisket. Half of the meat was not eatable. Horrible meat. Nice stay and would recommend for people traveling by

“Was better than I expected ”

Nice hotel, we stayed here one night and we had a family room and it was okay. Room was clean and there was enough space for us. We had a dinner in the hotel, it was basic hamburger dinner. There is a Ikeas restaurant just otherside of the hotel also Ikea museum was next to the hotel.
