“Just Lunch”

I called here for a 2 course lunch in the summer that cost under £10. It was a self service buffet and it was very good, coffee included, the hotel is run by a co-op. Very friendly staff they told me where the museum was and how to get there.

Had an amazing stay at Hotel Vuollerim. Amazing people and service, and lots of attractions that will open your heart and imagination. Definitely a place to enjoy the potential of Arctic Circle and get to know the amazing pieces of history this place has to share.

I stayed here in February 2016 for the Ice Lantern Festival and the Jokkmokk Winter Market happening in the town over. This was one of the only places left that had accommodation available, and although as a solo travelling student, it was a little pricey, it resulted in being my favourite destination of my entire month long European trip. Vuollerim is a very small town, and most people have not heard of it, I had to admit even I hadn't. Accommodation is very limited, however this hotel proved to be the largest and most centrally located. Plus had heaps of fun activities on during the week because of the festival. I stayed in the first room which was a single, this roughly cost me $150 AUD a night, however it is noted I visited in the busiest period of the year for this region. As this was the busiest time, I also had to pay prior to my trip to ensure I reserve the room. I had no issues with this. In terms of getting to Vuollerim, I flew into Stockholm, booked a night train from Stockholm Central to Murjek Station (with one stop-over), and a bus from Murjek to Vuollerim. When departing, I took a bus from Vuollerim to Luleå, and then flew from Luleå airport to London. It takes a bit of planning to get there, but is well worth it. The room contained a bed, TV, heater, wardrobe, and each room was decorated to a certain theme of the area. There were shared bathrooms situated on both floors, however I never had to wait, as the hotel only accommodates a small number of people. It also has a sauna downstairs that you can book for no extra charge, wifi, restaurant with home cooked meals (for a little extra), and best of all, the money made by the hotel is donated back into the community. At first, I was hesitant to book, as there is not a lot of information about this region and hotel on the internet, despite the amazing time I had. I know no Swedish, and all the beautiful friendly people were able to speak with me and have conversations. They were incredibly nice, and helped me arrange with the tour company of the town activities to do. It was safe, clean, and the people were amazing. I would go back here in a heart beat, maybe not when it's so freezing cold. I went searching for a place that was completely different from where I live in Australia, as well as a place that tour companies wouldn't touch, and I found it and more staying in Vuollerim. Ett trevligt och välskött Hotell med en trevlig restaurang. If you're in need of a overnight stop this is the best place along this route. Nice restaurant and bar. Free parking just outside. Try to book a room with shower.
