Staying at Mayfair Hotel Tunneln was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped inside, we could feel the history and character that make this hotel so special. The beautifully preserved architecture and elegant details tell a story of Malmö’s past, creating a truly unique and memorable atmosphere. The location couldn’t be better — just a short walk from countless shops, restaurants, and attractions. Whether we wanted to explore the old town, enjoy a cozy café, or do some shopping, everything was right at our doorstep. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and full of charm, offering the perfect balance between old-world character and modern comfort. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with recommendations or directions. If you’re looking for a unique stay that blends history, convenience, and genuine hospitality, Mayfair Hotel Tunneln is a perfect choice. We can’t wait to come back!

“Historic Family owned business”

This is a charming family owned hotel close to the train station in Malmo. They have comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast!

Historic hotel, good location, convenient for station. There's a lovely, small, dual aspect library next to Reception, all day coffee, and is comfy to sit in on a rainy afternoon. Historic hotel, good location, convenient for station. There's a lovely, small, dual aspect library next to Reception, all day coffee, and is comfy to sit in on a rainy afternoon. Breakfast buffet located in the original, old cellars dating back to 1300s, sadly the cooked breakfast tasted similarly dated. I hate to say, but Breakfast was dreadful. Cold scrambled eggs, cremated bacon, very salty meatballs. In huge serving dishes. Much better to have smaller platters and top them up, yes it's more work, but makes for a tastier and hotter brekkie! On the plus side, there are plenty of other choices available on the buffet. Coffee machine out of order. It'd be nice to have a brief summary of the history of the hotel in the breakfast cellar. Rather than the very thick, dog-eared, book. There is one sheet, but oddly written as 'Did you know ...' so not sure who this sheet is aimed at. A missed opportunity to share interesting facts about this unique building. The Courtyard Room was comfortable, enough power points, even a small fridge, TV. And there's a luggage bench. But ... the room smelt smokey, in a non smoking hotel! I had to remove the black cushions far away from the bed. Bathroom is spacious, a useful magnifying mirror, plenty of space for toiletries and makeup. But bring your own toiletries as theirs is not insufficient. All the Reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are steps up to Reception on arrival and down to the Courtyard rooms. I had help with my suitcase, no problem. A pleasant stay. For me it’s 3 Stars because of the poor Breakfast and lack of Toiletries, and smokey room but I’ve given 4 stars because the Staff were so pleasant.

I stayed here for 3 nights. It is clean and perfectly adequate. Furnishings are dated. Service is satisfactory but not brilliant. You have to “opt in” to have your room cleaned. Breakfast is fine. The bacon looked it it has been cremated. The coffee was average, but a reasonable continental breakf… more
