We arrived late at the Hotel Torpa Pensionat and a key was left in a locker for us as promised. WE had room 15 with the floral ceilings and terrace overlooking the fjiord. The ensuite was extremely small and cramped, you need to be agile to walk around the toilet to the shower and to get up from seated. But it was functional. Breakfast was a hug fantastic selection of continental offerings. It was help yourself and if anything ran out it was soon replaced. The position makes this quiet but it is a 5 mins ride back to town if you want shops or cafes. There is no refreshments tray in the room but there is a mini bar. Mattresses could do with upgrading, there was a topper which helped but after 3 night I was stiff. All in all a delight to see such antiques and furnishings and out stay was pleasant. I can thoroughly recommend the restaurant further down the road for a meal.

Good size room for the money compared to chain hotel offerings in the area. Interesting location by the water with a nice view. There is a restaurant in walking distance further up the road offering evening meals. The room had a basic kitchen, ironing board, there was wifi available. The decor is purposefully in a classical style, which my partner appreciated very much. As with other small hotels the reception service ends early evening, but not a problem for us as they have a key pickup method. My only small issue is the breakfast ends at 0900 on weekdays and 1000 on the weekends. Usually I like the option to sleep in a bit when I am on holiday. This is a good base in a calm area if you plan to look around this part of the city however you will need a car due to its location, or perhaps a boat!

The Hotel Torpa Pensionat has a great location right on the Water and only 200mts from a popular Beach and excellent Restaurant. The building is a classic Swedish design, and that theme continues inside, in fact it felt like you were entering a Stately Home, only now the Rooms are for your use. The Dining room again is very stylish, with one of the largest Mirrors I have seen, set with candelabra’s, lovely environment for Breakfast, as you would expect the Breakfast had a large choice, and after you can take your Coffee and sit on the covered deck and watch the Boats go by. We had requested a Lake view Room, unfortunately they were booked, however the Hotel upgraded us to a self-catering Room with Kitchen and small Patio with Lake views at no extra cost. The Room, like the rest of the Hotel was a trip back in time making the stay feel very special. As with it seems most Swedish Hotels, Cash is not accepted.
